It's not that either of them put in subpar shifts either, because I think both of them have done well in that respect. They are just not good enough to occupy both our flanks together. I have a lot more time for Walcott, because I know he has plenty of end product in him, and he is a viable option at point. Campbell has had a few really good games, but mostly been distinctly average.

Campbell has been our most creative player in January.

Long and short, the guy is not a very good player. Great 4th choice, but no more than that. Still think we should put Alexis on the right and sign a world-class left winger.

Long term, yes. In the short term, I'd be tempted to put Ramsey back on the right once Coquelin is fit. Hopefully one of Rosicky, Arteta or Elnenny can play a Santi-lite role alongside him.

Campbell can play in the FA Cup if we keep progressing

Why do you use Campbell as the example here? That's like saying City could have upgraded on Navas, not Sterling or De Bruyne.

Nothing wrong with qs's point. We started this season with Ramsey, Chamberlain and Campbell as the three viable options for the right wing. That's kinda unbelievable when you think about it.

That's exactly what I'm talking about. If we started without Sanchez then City started without De Bruyne. Just seems players are listed up under different terms in order to alter the difference between the teams further.

We signed Sanchez in 2014, not 2015. He's not being used on the right so he's not considered an option there.

What it comes down to is that we both had a wing problem. City did something about it, we pretended it doesn't exist. And now we're the only team in Premier League that doesn't play with width. We could have signed any number of players of any quality to put between guys like Chambo and Campbell and the first team.

Well he's not, because Wenger doesn't play him there. Saying he is holds the same value as suggesting Chambers is a defensive midfielder, that Gabriel is a right back or that Bellerin can play right wing.

All that aside, the point still remains. We have one good winger in the squad if you count Sanchez.

Which we knew going into the season, also knowing that both Welbeck and Wilshere would be out for at least half the season. Utterly ridiculous squad management.

The only difference being that Sanchez actually can play that position and has done so for us, but don't let that get in the way. I agree that it's terrible squad management, I just reacted to the comparison. It's not like we have Campbell while they have De Bruyne. We have Ramsey, they have De Bruyne. We have Özil, they have Silva. We have Sanchez, they have Sterling. I think we're better, but as you say they have much more depth than us. Especially because Ramsey also is our second choice CM.

i love how 2 pages ago, people were praising Joel for how much better he has gotten. One bad game against a Chelsea side that was up a man after 20 mins and all of a sudden he's utter tripe again.. lol

and i dont think he was that poor against Stoke.. his passing was pretty decent

I did say a couple of games ago that Joel needs to keep it up to really stake a place and stop any lingering doubts and unfortunately he's not done that.

Luckily for him Theo hasn't been very convincing either and neither has Ox, though I thought the latter did have a decent cameo against Chelsea. So he still has a chance to impress.
