I think Poch has proven himself to be one of the best managers in the league. With that Spurs squad he has overachieved massively with them for 2 seasons now. Their wage bill is comparatively lower than the top teams and he has hardly spent any meaningful cash since joining them.

Did he really overachieve massively last season? Finished 3rd behind Leicester and us, ahead of rudderless Chelsea, LVG-United and Liverpool who started the season under Rodgers. Nevermind the ridiculous bottle job to finish below us, what exactly was impressive about their last season?

Doing well this year fair enough but only after again pissing away their CL season in spectacularly shit fashion which everyone seems to have forgotten for some reason. I'd wait with singing his praises until May, he's a decent manager but his teams have a habit of completely collapsing and as of now he hasn't really shown more than someone like Redknapp

poch and his players have the premier league pretty well sussed, but look clueless in europe. the main reason i'm impressed is because he's the first manager in yonks to get a handle on their 'spursiness' (though not entirely as we saw last season)

until he actually wins something, what he's done isn't any more impressive than what wenger did with a similarly sized squad and budget between 06-11

Tuchel is the far more interesting for me personally, but it's not even necessarily tonight's game I'm interested in seeing how he does. Although I think it will be a great match that will get the nod over Juve-Barca from me tonight. Im more interested in seeing, if they get through, what Tuchel can do against one of the big boys, with better players than he has and when it really matters.

Ricky, there are literally 3,5 managers who we can get from tonight's Champions League games that we should puruse with a passion. Enrique is an option, although he would prefer a year off, so he's a half man in my calculation.

We have zero excuse to fail to replace Wenger. The thread title is sooooooooo depressing.

Enrique isn't remotely impressive. I don't think 'just get the ball to Welbeck, Walcott and Giroud' will work quite as well.

A goodbye for Arsene Wenger, except for an unexpected twist that's only possible in a club like Arsenal, seems definitive.
The Frenchman who promised so much has lost strength and presence in the last five years.
Barcelona has already presented their interest in Valverde but they need to move quickly if they want to hire him.

At this point of time we should go short term options to steady the ship first. Even Big Sam can do a better job for us as oppose to letting Wenger sign a new contract.

In an ideal world. I don't trust our board to be able to make those sort of moves at all.

Anyway, I'm thinking worse case scenario. We simply cannot let Wenger stay on. Anyone else bar him.

We're at another transitional phase with potentially a large number of departures in the summer, there's no point getting in someone to 'steady the ship'. Let Wenger's long term replacement build the team he wants. Besides whats the worst that can happen? We're in real danger of not making the top 4 next season regardless.
