I'm fast approaching the position where 'any one will do' if for no other reason than to shake things up out of this stupor of inertia & stagnation.

In the next contract of 2 years or more both CFC and Spuds will have their new expansions / stadiums either completed or close to it, ManU are moving on plans to expand, Everton are looking to build & have been offered a choice of land by their council.

IMO we have ballsed up the advantages we had re the stadium revenues, and the Cash Reserves that have both decreased in value as a result of the new TV deals. If the status quo remains we will continue to stagnate whilst those clubs with more ambition will push on and pass our dwindling financial resources.
Instead of achieving a lock out in the top4 we are going to be in a 4 way battle for 4th-7th place. I recall reading an article that projected the impact of the new TV deals and stadium revenues at LFC, and they were projected to earn more than AFC did before the impact of the new TV deal, and we've already been passed by the likes of Citeh & CFC re marketing and commercial deals before they improve their match gates. We've gone from being the 2nd biggest club on & off the pitch at the time of the move, to now being a distant / consistent 3rd / 4th on & off the pitch.

So apart from his record with Sassuolo, Inter & now with Juve,
would he be described as a manager as being a winner - a Mourinho type who puts success ahead of aesthetics,
as opposed the Cruyff school of thinking per AW / Pep,
a tactician like Biesla or LVG who prioritise the system above the players?

I can not see AW going to Juve, let alone Juve wanting him.

I think the closest comparable is Benitez. He seems to be willing to try various things to get to the right answer in any situation - question is if our current crop is up to that kind of flexibility.

most juve supporters didn't want allegri to take over. i remember seeing a bunch of polls and reading reactions on various forums at the time, and was negative/underwhelmed in the main. now he seems to have won most of them over. the main concern people seem to have is that he's done well when he's had a solid foundation/infrastructure surrounding him. stepping into the wenger vacuum and working with the current board is another ball game.

Even back when he won the league with Milan there were weekly rumours that Berlusconi wanted to get rid of him. He's a bit like Mancini in the sense that he's decent but not top class, maybe. You bring him in when you have a settled side and he'll add some tactical finish.

He's not going to motivate the players to bust a lung however, and I think that's what we need more than anything at this club right now. Arsenal is hands down one of the most boring clubs in Europe. Even typing it feels ridiculous when you consider our reputation, but that's where we're at. There's no excitement, no passion about our football. No fight. We'll lie down and die as soon as we're challenged. Our confidence is so brittle that it takes us months to get any form of momentum going again, and we're still only one bad performance away from another collapse.

We need to add 2-3 players who refuse to give up, and we need a manager who can make the team play with some gusto. That bloke is definitely not Wenger anymore, but it's not Allegri either on current evidence.

I saw Allegri recently called Bonucci a dickhead and dropped him in the game vs Porto (http://www.goal.com/en/news/8/main/2017/02/21/32907222/ozil-youre-next-allegris-public-bust-ups-with-dickhead). He does seem to have a strong personality that can rub people negatively.

I do agree with you on the settled side with tactical finish part. We're going to have to bring in a transfer guru to help with the signings (if we do get Allegri).

If you can't motivate them to run through a wall then sign quality youth who know no fear.

We're still in them
just that the initial crop failed (Fabregas & Co),
and we're seeing the potential demise of the 2nd group (the British core),
and the emergence of the 3rd group (Iwobi, Rienne-Adelaide, Maitland-Niles etc).

AW probably wants to stay on re 3rd time lucky,
but me thinks it will all end in tears because of his methodology.

IMO the whole internal development has been shite because we haven't managed to develop anyone of comparable quality/sustainability to Saints, let alone become the core of the team, and we've not generated any pay back in terms of transfer fees.

Bottom line Wengerball needs developed players who know their game in order to create the intuitive style he wants.
Development players need to be fully rounded to develop properly and to understand their game.

We've a team of experienced players now. Jack gnabry and ox all want to leave this season for game time. I know ox is here but he's been clear he wants to go in interviews.

I would say its Vadim Vasilyev. He also gets insane prices for his players too.

I'm just saying that about Allegri because he didn't build that team, it was because of Marotta, Juve's DoF. Juve aren't going to lose much if they lose Allegri due to the quality of the squad being miles better than the rest of Serie A. If we could sign someone who could make those signings and build a quality side, then changing the manager shouldn't be as big of an issue in the future.

Agreed re DoF - it's why Saints haven't collapsed despite losing managers and players constantly.
They approach signing anyone - manager / coach / players in the same format based around the club's preferred style of play = the manger & staff fit the club blueprint as much as any player brought in to play a specific position or role.
