You said it yourself, the French league is relatively weak and it's at this level that you see what some of these teams are made of. They came out of a relatively weak group and got exposed at Leverkusen who are struggling a bit this season.
Don't get me wrong, I was impressed by some of the things I saw but I also thought they had some structural flaws. They were still leading despite Falcao's penalty miss and their game management completely collapsed despite taking the lead again at 3-2. We went and played like this at City a couple of years ago and lost 6-3.
For the majority of the match I thought Jardim got his tactics and shape spot on. Tiredness clearly played a factor, as well as mentally it was difficult for some Monaco players, having had the opportunity to get to 3-1, their keeper fumbled and it's 2-2, huge difference.
It's worth noting that 2 of City's goals came from corners at crucial time. Monaco's concentration levels clearly dropped after they got tired, and without their best defender Jemerson it makes a difference.
Despite French League not being as good as PL, Monaco has been much better than PSG this season, who outplayed us in both match for some perspective of the levels they are at. They played a complete reserve team at Leverkusen after winning the group.
