He definitely deserves a lot of credit for several of the players listed. Piszczek for example was considered one of the very best right backs in Europe around 2012-ish; before Klopp bought him he was a below average at best striker for Berlin, other players being similar cases (Lewandowski, Kuba, Gündogan).

Agreed. It should be noted though that Gündogan's and Sahin's places in those lists should be swapped. Sahin was rated as one of the best youth players in Europe when he was 15 already, Gündogan's career didn't really kick off until pretty late, he was bought for little money when he was 21 and didn't really show his worth until a year or two later.

Alright, let's have this conversation regarding Klopp again in a years time. If Klopp can manage to get Pool in the top 4 this time next year I'll consider myself proven wrong.

Just to be clear, I'm not saying he's talented, he's just overrated, unlike Rodgers for example, who is just a fraud. I would never want Klopp to manage Arsenal.

I think so too.

Also, although I don't watch the Bundesliga regularly, the impression I get is that teams don't sit back as much as they do in the Premiership. Klopp will initially struggle, especially with this Liverpool side, to break down teams that sit very deep. It's no surprise he has had more success against teams that have been more open.

He is a good manager and I can see him turning Liverpool around into a more competitive side.

I would like to see a change at Arsenal too, just because our manager won't do a 100% he can in the transfer window to give us a chance of winning. However, Wenger still remains a top manager for any club with a long term vision, as good as anyone in the World.

Our desire for change makes us hold other managers in far greater regard than they deserve though.

Nah. Kroenke, the board, and Wenger are all about long term goals. We need a manager who is intent on the here and now to balance it all out. Have the owner and the board work toward long term goals such as strengthening the Arsenal brand and increasing revenue, while the manager is focused on short term goals like having the best possible squad at his disposal and winning shit.
Arsenal is the only club I know of where members of the board have come out and said that they have never refused the manager money if he wanted to buy someone, and Arsenal is the only club I know of where there are signals from the board that they want the manager to spend more. I'd much prefer if the manager wanted a LOT and the board would have to go 'whoa, hold your horses there a bit' from time to time. It's all too balanced between owner, manager and board for my liking, and it can't be all that healthy when everyone is singing off the same sheet.

As I watched the match this morning (Australian time) I wondered for a moment if perhaps Guardiola might be about to announce a move to Arsenal.

Watching us beat City and move into position as league favourites made me suddenly think it's not entirely beyond the realm of possibility.

Why is Pep leaving Bayern though? He left Barca whilst on top, but there were some clashes with the board IIRC. If he can't keep a job for more than a couple of years I really don't want him here..

What about Jorge Jesus? He seems to have done exceptionally well at Benfica and now at Sporting. Anyone think he can transfer that outside of Portugal?
