There were a couple of exceptional players in that Dortmund team but surely the squad was not exceptional at all looking at the individual players. Have you also forgotten how entertaining their brand of football was? He's also no Mourinho. Surely Klopp deserves all the credit in the world for his achievements there.
Dortmund had an extremely talented squad in the early-mid Klopp years. Hummels, Piszczek, Sahin, Gündogan, Reus, Lewandowski, Götze... that's a huge team.
To be fair to Klopp, a couple of those players (Sahin, Piszczek, Kuba amongst others) seemed to have hit new heights in Klopp's peak there and have (arguably) declined thereafter. So perhaps he deserves some credit for bringing them to a higher level.
Obviously there's no disputing the talent of Gundogan, Lewandowski, and Goetze but under Klopp's tutelage they went from promising players to legitimate stars. Plenty of players with obvious talent don't succeed, for various reasons
