thought that was an interesting tidbit. would we be happy with pep? he certainly has the gravitas to control the dressing room, and the reputation to attract top players. my thing is his tinkering sometimes get the better of him. this 'ramsey on the right' stuff would pale in comparison to peps tinkering

yep i'm not entirely sold either, but wenger leaving will create such a vacuum that perhaps only a perceived heavy hitter like pep could ease the transition period. definitely don't want us giving the job to someone who hasn't been successful at a big club

I'm loving the carnage Fergi left behind at Utd.
Obviously there are rival powers at work in the club pulling it in different directions.
For all Wengers shortcomings in other areas he is at least a stabilising force.

I'd fucking love him here. I'd have Simeone over him but after him nobody comes close to Pep; not sure who people are expecting to come here without any sort of baggage.

Guardiola might have some drawbacks but literally everyone out there does, and we should get used to the thought that whoever comes after Wenger won't be at the club for more than three or four years.

Pep has had the fortune of working with great players and probably is not as great as his CV suggests, additionally he will probably not build a side in the way Wenger or Ferguson could.

At the same time, hiring him would make us a prime destination for top players, just under the Spanish big 2 and Bayern. In that sense, he would be an important replacement for Wenger

We don't need to build a side we have fine world class players like Ozil Sanchez and Ramsey, all we need is a great tactician who can devise a proper system to compliment them so we can win the CL.

You're talking about a team that had the likes of Ronaldinho, Messi, Henry, Eto'o, Xavi, Iniesta, Yaya Toure etc.

I think it's pretty fair to consider that as a factor when talking about Guardiola's success with them. It's not like he took 4th place scraping squad full of Denilsons, Bendtners and Djourous and coached them into treble-winners in a season.
