He plays right back for them though because he's not a particularly great centreback.
Champions League 2015/2016
Navas is such a terrible footballer. I remember when he came to England, there were some who said he'll tear fullbacks apart and wreak havoc. He's about as good as Aaron Lennon was in his pomp, perhaps not even that good.

That's not to say they're stylistically identical, but the way they approach the game, the way they both have five or six tools in their possession where normal players have one or two... it's such a close match. People always say he's not suited to the wing and I just don't see it; I think he's magic out there when he doesn't get entire seasons ruined by injury.
All this just makes it weirder that we weren't willing to gamble on him a bit. This is the guy Wenger has been looking for since 2006.
In terms of the multitude of weapons that they have I can definitely see it, they also have that same nose for goal too, but it's hard to look past the fact that they are the exact opposite of one another in terms of style, as you already said. Pires was so graceful, Draxler has a very clumsy, awkward style - very van Persie like in that respect.
Yeah, aesthetically Draxler is definitely more of a 90s footballer to me. I reckon that's what modern football needs at the moment. Everyone's so caught up on systems and positions to cover as many areas of the field as possible; few are concerned about spontaneous movement between those areas on the other hand.
I think Marquinhos is better than David Luiz though...I think Luiz only plays centerback because he was considered tall in Brazil and not good enough as a forward
Hmmm.
City have a more than decent chance of going through now I reckon
YES, Get in Wolfsburg. Massive performance, once of the best I've seen in a very long time. Knew they had a chance. Well done all of them, especially Draxler.

I caught a little of that game, and Real was such a joke offensively. 21 shots, but only 3 on target. They looked incapable of beating that Wolfsburg defense.
Wow, will surely be two cracking second matches. Don't know which I want to watch.
In hindsight the Mancs were in a very underrated group
Wolfsburg=Leicester City of CL
Aurier is awful, don't know why Blanc started him.
Because he's usually excellent?

Nah, he's usually pretty good. Didn't see the game tonight so I can't comment.
It is true he is better offensively than defensively though, depends on what role you prefer your outside backs to play
Maybe, and this is just a guess, training with the kids for a few weeks hasn't improved his form?
Honestly, I was very surprised to see him play at all. Was pretty sure he was done at PSG. After what he said, he should have never played for them again.

Because Blanc has no spine. It's not the first time he's bent over backwards to accommodate a player.
It shouldn't solely be down to the manager though the way I see it. This bloke said the manager of the club was giving blowjobs to the main man ffs! Board and owner needed to step up to the plate here and show some backbone. This guy should have been done at PSG.

He should definitely be done at PSG, but Ray seemed to imply that he shouldn't have played because of his quality. He's their best RB, no question about that.
Watched the full 90 of the Wolfsburg match, worst CL quarter final match I've seen in a while. Embarrassingly shit from both sides, Real of course even more than VW.
Draxler is immensely talented but he needs a manager to guide him and that's definitely not Hecking. One of the few things I'd trust Wenger with is to get the best out of players of his ilk. Looks a lot more comfortable on the wing though than he used to to be fair to Hecking.
I still reckon Draxler will make a great striker.
False 9 maybe but he has never played as a striker so everything is a guess.
Reckon Wolfsburg and City both now have a very good chance of going through. City with De Bruyne has been better at home in Europe this season, while an away goal for Wolsburg will completely kill the tie at Bernabeu. Judging from the amount of chances Roma got the other night, it will be good for Wolfsburg to play on the break.
