Ronaldo and Bale aren't much slower than those two. Make no mistake Real played like shit but that was also down to Barcelona being all over them

Also despite that result I rate Real's defence higher than Bayern's. Boateng will be on suicide watch after the game

Roma played almost suicidal football vs. Barca with that high defensive line. However, I'm not sure if Pep would set up his team to play defensively (and on the counter) vs. Barca though.

Do people still want Rudi Garcia here? I think he has a record in the Champions League now. 16 goals conceded in 5 games! 😆

Fucking hell just seen the Barcelona goals, they're on another planet.

Suarez is the best player in the world.

There's little to dislike about this Barcelona side to be fair. Messi on a hat trick gives the penalty to Neymar and gifts Piqué a goal when he could have chipped Szczesny, Dani Alves actively holding back to not touch Messi's chip for the second etc. Also Neymar is just glorious to watch these days:

It's like having Maradona, Van Basten and Ronaldinho on the pitch all playing for the same team at the same time.

The last time I saw this kind of greatest in a sports team at the same time was with the Chicago Bulls in the mid 90's.

fucking bartha are on some next shit. i thought their era would die with xavi aging, but they've now got arguably one of the greatest front 3s in football history. fuck

I watched their match against RM the other day and it was like little insects running rings round elephants.
CRonaldo was almost crying in public as Real were not poor yet the score was 4 zip.

It's not easy to be up against this Barca side to be fair. Bayern scored five goals on us a few weeks ago. Barcelona could have reached double figures if we had played them instead on that night.

That's true, but he didn't seem to instill his team with confidence. He sounded brutally honest and defeated after the game:

“We could’ve scored earlier and been a bit more closed up. I tried everything, we pressed them right away, but even with everyone back we conceded two goals.

“If Edin had scored early on, I still trust we would’ve lost the game eventually. We lost the ball too quickly. After the break I changed system, trying to press and stop all the balls coming in behind the defence, but in the end nothing changed.

“I have nothing to reproach my players for, other than we should’ve used the ball better in the first half and could’ve scored, but winning here was impossible.

“The result and above all Barcelona’s performance shows even more how good our first meeting with them was and how precious the 1-1 draw proved to be.

“As I said, Barcelona are in the clouds right now and we didn’t need this show of strength to know that. We are far away from that level, but they are probably the best team in the world. We won't be the last side to concede six here.

“I am disappointed, obviously, there is bitterness to have lost with this scoreline, but in the end we must only focus on beating Atalanta in Serie A and above all BATE Borisov.

“I was able to rest Daniele De Rossi and Radja Nainggolan, who were a booking away from suspension, so we’ll have them for the decisive match.

“I also got to rest Alessandro Florenzi and Miralem Pjanic in the second half.”

It's commendable that he said this, but at the same time, I can't help but think that he sounds like an absolute loser. Even without this loss, he has a dreadful record in the CL.

Yeah, serious questions meed to be asked about him given his crap Champions League record. At the same time I can't help but think that Roma has a bullshit team at the moment, and Garcia is the only one who's papering over the cracks. They just get shown up in Europe because they're so obviously out of their league there.

Great atmosphere in Malmö tonight, by the way. I wanted to take my dad to this game, but Rex and his capitalist friends made sure that a single ticket went for £500 on general sale. The telly will have to do unfortunately.

Rabiot scores in the 3rd minute. Fuck me, this kid looks good. Wenger screwed up royally by not getting him when his mum were shopping him around.

United in an interesting position tonight, win and they're in, but anything other than a win and they'll likely need to win away in Germany

World class save by Trapp here. I get what jonesy sees in him.

I know right?

Watching the Juventus match here. You could just hear Allegri next to the stadium mic talking to his players for 30 seconds without saying Dai! once :gape: 😆

Agüero 😆 Great work by Buffon but he has to score there

Konate embarrasses PSG:s midfielders here. Great play from him. I really think he has a shot at making it at a big European club in the future if he just stops being so lazy.

😆 Just saw the Agüero chance. Buffon is amazing. 37 years old but can probably play a bit into his 40s at this rate.

How many world class strikers has he embarrassed throughout the years? He's at least as good technically as half of the people he's up against too. It'll be a long time until we get to see another goalkeeper with such unique characteristics.

City are embarrassingly shit, don't even think it's just Pellegrini who underperforms although he certainly doesn't help. Juve can't string two passes together but are 1-0 up

If Sevilla scored just a few of their dozen sitters in both matches I'd put money on City finishing bottom of the group

Yeah, City are weird. It's definitely not just Pellegrini. They've failed systematically under every manager in Europe. There's no obvious explanation for it.

It's because they are mercenaries, and unlike Chelsea players they don't have to fear to be found hanged in their apartments if they don't perform

United have to be the dullest team in Europe.

What do you think about Sturaro Klaus? He looked like a well rounded player whenever I've seen him, good energy about him as well

Also I want Pogba, he still struggles to impose himself on games but his potential is ridiculous. Don't think I've ever seen someone with that build and such good feet, Zlatan maybe but that's it

Also make a cheeky 30m+1 bid for Agüero, he can't be happy playing for that garbage team

Delph coming on for City 😆

Sturaro is interesting. Is he starting tonight? I can't quite figure him out. Not even his mum thought he was going to play any meaningful games for Juve last season, but then Allegri started him in the semifinal against Real Madrid and he completely dominated their fancypants midfielders. There's a bit of Rino about him maybe.

United are so incredibly average, it's almost mesmerising.

Yeah he's starting, playing right midfield.

Sterling just on for Agüero 😆

Dybala seems to have taken the step up the kind up, he flourished in a very specific system but has adapted his game at Juve now. Big talent, would take him despite his midget status

Or rather PSV has been extremely impressive. Dominated the match for majority of the time.

Didnt know they play such good football, every player is extremely confident on the ball, even in tight areas in defence to pass it out.

They've been OK but PSV have not been tested in the slightest at the back, United are just so slow and unimaginative on the ball. It's not that they're playing badly or that it's an off night, this is a deliberate style.

Sterling misses an open goal by a yard 😆

Caballero on for Hart, might have injured himself after a great save vs Morata

Anything less than a win today means United must go to Wolfsburg and get a win there to qualify. Good.

Like City, they haven't deserved anything in this campaign. Both of their wins has been extremely lucky.

Reckon United's best chance of progressing is PSV failing to win thier last game.

Schneiderlin looks absolutely terrible by the way, completely pointless and out of his depth.

Incredible game at Shakthar. Madrid led 4-0, now it's 4-3.

Oh, is he.. Who could've known? 8)

Truly a shit player, and massive excuse of a footballer. Does absolutely nothing on a football pitch.

United and Shitty finishing second would be good for us provided we get 2nd in our group, lowers the probability to get one of the big boys in the next round. Still, only team I'd be really comfortable with would be Wolfsburg, maybe Porto too. Even Zenit have looked highly impressive.
