Messi hasn't been at his best this season, particularly in the last two or so months. Not the first time he's been affected by him being in the news off the pitch. Mind this is still Messi we're talking about, he's still unplayable for months at a time even when he's having a shit season.
He's played at RW last season and had one of his best ever seasons, it's definitely not the position. He actually has more of the ball as he drops very deep, plays like a midfielder half of the time because of the comparative lack of creativity from midfield.
Off field news? Doubt that's the reason Messi is having a bad spell.
MSN as a whole have been playing non stop for years. At the start of 2014/15 they've played so much more than anyone else and you can see the fatigue setting in. They're dead on their feet.
Luis Enrique should have kept Pedro I think.
I hope all of MSN have a good 4 weeks off this summer, and next season they'll come back stronger, and I hope Barca buy a youthful attacker with world class potential. Sane/Dembele etc.
Messi has been playing nonstop for his whole career. Second time that his poor form coincides with his tax fuckery too, don't think there's much more in it though. Hardly a shame to go out vs Atlético when they've played the perfect match, Anoeta has been their bogey ground for a decade then they got Valencia at the worst time possible, think their rough patch is already over.
Very little between the 09 and 11 teams imo, even more important than the front three are the respective midfields imo. Iniesta and Busquets were a lot better in 2011, Xavi had his best ever season in 09. The 11 team edges it for me because that team was responsible for what was probably the best football match any neutral has ever seen.
