I've heard that the storytelling in Into to the Badlands is really awful, but gets better in season 2 and that it has great fighting choreography. Obviously I'm partly put off by that description, but I'll probably give it a go just for the fight scenes.

Story telling isn't that bad in it. Its quite different from most shows and thats a good thing IMO. Too much of the same mediocre "prestige" shite on.

I've been looking for something with good fighting scenes since Banshee ended/turned to shit, so I guess I'll have to check this out during the holiday.

The story is pretty interesting. Sometimes the acting and production is a bit el-cheapo in between fights, but i hadn't seen any of season 2 yet so that might've actually improved

Anyone watch 13 Reasons Why? My niece forced me to watch it. It's a depressing yet compelling watch. I don't know enough about suicide or mental health to know how well it reflects the reality of those issues and it doesn't strike me as something that tries to seriously tackle it, but as a story it was pretty sad.

Yep, usual formula: couple people die, tying in loads of different factions. It has worked for Season 1 and 2, so I have faith that there will be much excellence to follow. I hope the cast increases though. Part of what S2 so exciting was how so many different characters got their chance to shine.

Finished the first season of Oz. Incredibly captivating t.v.

I love the range of characters, and the structure of giving them 10-15minute sequences per episode. It makes each ep feel like a mini film. It's also admirable how ruthless they are with killing characters off, especially those with big on-screen presence.

My favourite character at the moment has to be the reverend, Karim Said. He's so intense, and comes up with some truly profound lines. The actor is fantastic. Looks very familiar.

Really looking forward to the remaining seasons.

You're going to love Adebisi when he becomes a prominent character from season 2 and onwards.

I've started a Penny Dreadful marathon. It's kinda alright so far, enough to hook me on.

But now in the fourth episode I'm really being put off by the fact that Tomas Rosicky is trying to shag all the cast members of all genders and possibly all species.

It really destroys the suspension of disbelief for me.

Yeah, I love Adebisi. My housemate and I were talking about how he's basically the devil incarnate. Guy seems to have no morals. But he is so captivating to watch.

Book is one of Gaiman's better things.

The story hinges on a twist that is very obvious in the book, so if the adaptation sticks with that twist they're going to have to bury it carefully.

Watched Avatar: The Last Airbender over the last couple of weeks. Wow, I have to say that's clearly the best animated series I've ever watched. I Immediately started on The Legend of Korra and after two episodes I'm kind of sad because I don't think it looks close to as good so far. The core group simply isn't nowhere near to being as likeable as the original Team Avatar.

Binging on Breaking Bad, and hoping seasons 3-5 end up better than Seasons 1-2....it's what I've heard happens so I'm hopeful. But if they don't improve noticeably I think I'll end disagreeing with how lauded it has been.

I thought season two was the best of them actually. But that's a minority opinion.
