Started watching Prison Break thinking it was a mini series. I liked it, so kept watching after understanding it wasn't. Once they got out of prison it became too ridiculous, so I just stopped watching. Still have to say though, that the first season was good TV.

With people like Peter Stormare, Robert Knepper and Wade Williams knocking around that show really did have a great, menacing supporting cast.

It was funny seeing Dominic Purcell (who used to be an Australian TV heartthrob in our equivalent of Degrassi) get a gig in the US as well.

true. there was some memorable villain performances in season 1 (i'd throw william fitchner's fbi agent in there as well), before their characters got watered down

Was just looking at Robert Knepper's filmography, I reckon he's one of the most unsettling actors around. He's been cast in the Twin Peaks sequel. Awesome.

Season 1 was better than an action show on a major US network had any business being. If you could suspend your disbelief at times of the most ridiculous almost-caught-me-red-handed moments that happened in every episode, the show was mapped out quite brilliantly. They kept the show suspenseful and moving forward for 22 hour long episodes, not an easy task. And I agree about the supporting cast, some great villains in there.

Rather not talk about the rest of the show. They overused the hostage-angle so much it became a farce at the end. And they followed the 24 school of "yeah that guy we've been building up as the ultimate bad guy all this time, now that you've killed him he was really just a henchman for THIS guy, the real ring leader." Rinse and repeat throughout the shows run. Talk about lazy writing.

Aye, those flashback scenes where he visits the woman and her two kids in season one is chilling stuff.

First season was fantastic TV but it was always going to struggle after that first season.

I only watched season one actually. Thought it was engrossing but I wasn't that into the premise. But definitely a great cast.

He certainly plays an excellent villain. The scenes when he took the vet hostage to reattach his hand stand out. Also remember when he was stuck in the desert with that Mexican guy and ended up killing and eating him when they needed food. Then when he stumbled across some people they said he looked ill and asked if he ate some bad Mexican food and he said "something like that."

Season 1 was one of the best seasons of anything I've seen. Still enjoyed the rest but it was a tough act to follow.

I watched about 8 episodes of Prison Break before dropping it. Couldn't stand Robert Knepper, guys a fucking ham.

The Americans is great. Really set up nicely for an exciting season 4 finale next week. Can't wait.

I see season 6 has also been confirmed, good stuff.
