Started watching Prison Break thinking it was a mini series. I liked it, so kept watching after understanding it wasn't. Once they got out of prison it became too ridiculous, so I just stopped watching. Still have to say though, that the first season was good TV.
Season 1 was better than an action show on a major US network had any business being. If you could suspend your disbelief at times of the most ridiculous almost-caught-me-red-handed moments that happened in every episode, the show was mapped out quite brilliantly. They kept the show suspenseful and moving forward for 22 hour long episodes, not an easy task. And I agree about the supporting cast, some great villains in there.
Rather not talk about the rest of the show. They overused the hostage-angle so much it became a farce at the end. And they followed the 24 school of "yeah that guy we've been building up as the ultimate bad guy all this time, now that you've killed him he was really just a henchman for THIS guy, the real ring leader." Rinse and repeat throughout the shows run. Talk about lazy writing.Â
