Half way through The People vs OJ Simpson now and it's pretty riveting viewing despite the outcome being known.

The relationship in the Americans between Phil and Beeman is very much like the one between Walter White and Hank in Breaking Bad. Expect a similar development in the Americans as well. Really like the show though, so thanks to the TV buffs of OMITT. 🙂

Is Veep any good? I have HBO Nordic now (access to all HBO shows). Really liked Silicon Valley, but I've caught up with it, so I need something else. I'll watch Rectify eventually, but I'll need to be in the mood for it, which I'm not at the moment.

Yes. The Thick of It (its UK predecessor also written by Armando Iannucci) is also very good.

I ended up re-watching the first episode of Veep the other night and it's interesting to see the attributes they were trying to lift from the UK version that were sort of falling flat. It's evolved considerably.

Although The Thick of It was never the same without Chris Langham, he was perfect for the role. Shame he had to ruin it by being a peodo.

Definitely don't want to be a paedophile apologist, but there was no evidence that Langham had ever acted on his perversion. The story that emerged from the court case was one of a sad and fucked up guy who'd been abused himself in his own childhood.

Americans got renewed for 2 more seasons then it's done. I think that's great. At least now they can build to it and be sure when it ends and that they won't have the plug pulled on them.

That's great news, I think 2 more seasons is perfect. Hopefully they work towards an ending from next season.

Agreed Quincy, Preacher first episode wasn't bad. I've been looking forward to it, I enjoyed the comic years ago but I don't give a fuck if the adaptation "ruins" it.

That said I wouldn't personally have made Jesse's dad a preacher—much better as a marine.

It was pretty good, just there was a major incident that has potential ramifications across all the DC TVverse.

Just watched it. Was great and yes that should have a major impact in the DC world.

I think it's good and watch it every week. Quite different from most other shows . Also cool how they're mixing all of the classic horror stories into one.
