I was pretty much nearing the end of the 1st season during that early exchange. First post was after 5 episodes.

But yeah, I usually stick with one show at a time until I finish it then move onto the next. Films I haven't got the patience for because I end up falling asleep before it's finished whereas a show you can just continue watching the next day without much fuss. I usually watch an 1 to 1 and a half episodes of whatever it is I'm watching a night before bed, sometimes 2. Weekends that can creep up to 2 and a half to 3 episodes. Gonna finish the last episode tonight hopefully.

After my long TV drought we've actually watched KAOS this week while getting past our jet lag.

It's endearing. Not the greatest show, but it's definitely possible to fuck up adapting Greek myths in a worse way.

Is it something new? I usually wait before watching something that's come out this year. Could get cancelled, could turn out super shit, whatever, you know. I usually give it 2 seasons before I really jump in.

Btw, just finished the rest of the last episode last night. Never liked Ken from the start, and he is a dickhead to everyone. I never liked Shiv either. Both annoyed the fuck out of me for how they tried fucking their family over. Ken fucking his family in season 2 and almost sending his dad to prison, Shiv taking some random's side over her family.

Shiv really fucked them out of it in the last minute because she couldn't bare to give it to Ken. Even though she hated the idea of letting Tom become the CEO, even a puppet CEO. In the end the jealousy was too much.
Physically fighting, during a board meeting, in open view of the Board. That is fucked up beyone unprofessional.
I'm happy Tom got it in the end.

He was probably the only person on the show who wanted it (however extremely unlikely it always seemed), but was also not a totally, self serving prick who was out to fuck everyone over. Could have understood if he ended up refusing to do any of the following things:

Compromising his marriage and agreeing to this weird open relationship thing even though he didn't want it,
Genuinely sacrificing himself to go to jail for Logan,
Forgiving Shiv time and again when it was clear she gave almost no fucks about him, even in that final scene where he gives her his hand and she gives him a limp palm. Feels like she's still in plotting mode and doesn't want to be there but is because it's the only way to position herself.
The one I did not expect, is that he actually forgave Gregg for the shit he pulled at the end which put the power back in Roy siblings' hands, and would have lost him his current role, never mind the CEO role. I thought for sure the betrayal he felt there would have ended up in him firing him but he went the other way. And by the way, fuck Gregg and his bitch ass ways.

In the end I thought they all swallowed their pride and decided to keep it in the family but nope, one more sting in the tale by Shiv and none of them get it. Worst thing is they only get half the payout in cash with the rest in stock. Stock that will devalue when they really go under the microscope for the faked user numbers.

I read about people complaining about the ending of the show, probably on here. I mean I ignored the details as soon as I saw it being discussed but I have to say I'm happy for Tom in the end. Even as a puppet. Just annoyed that arrogant fucker pulled off the buy by the end.

All in all it was a really good show. Just a notch or so below from getting into my all time classics group, but a great watch nonetheless. Who knows, in time it may even get promoted up there.

I was always Team Kendall though (not that Ken wasn't a complete fucknut).

I dunno, I mean I know just like the rest he's doing what he can to get any kind of position of power possible, and probably saw her as a way into the family but the show starts with them already together so no realy clue how that started. To me at least, he seemed like he did genuinely care for Shiv and Gregg. Maybe he fooled me and I'm giving him more credit than he deserves though.

The only other people I somewhat liked were Roman who was an emotional wreck but also seemed like he cared about his family, and Connor because he didn't involve himself in any of that stuff and rather did what he though was best for his wife and his stupid run in politics. The other two did not seem to care about anyone but themselves. Preferred Ken to Shiv, though that's only because she fucked her family on many more occassions than Ken did, even when she didn't have a chance at getting top spot either way.

I didn't mind Gregg snaking whoever because they're all at it, but did when he twice did it to Tom because, as much of a dick he was to Gregg, he was always there for him, giving him job after job and taking him everywhere he went. I don't remember Tom ever doing the same to Shiv and I don'tthink he owed any of the others his loyalties because they all constantly mocked him. I guess that's maybe why I don't think he's as big a snake as the others because you can only betray those who you have loyalties with and other strong ties. His loyalties lay with Shiv and Logan and I don't think he backstabbed any of them and was willing to go to prison for the latter. Don't think he was ever close with the others so no real betrayals there.

With Gregg, yes they're his cousins and his betrayals of them to Tom didn't matter to me much because they were always horrible to him, and ended up costing him hundreds of millions when he chose to stay with them which they didn't give a shit about. When he betrayed Tom, that was different. And Tom forgiving him made it feel like an even bigger betrayal.

However the betrayals by Ken and Shiv for me were far worse than anything else because it's betraying your brothers, sister, and father time and again. To the point that with Ken, he was willing to destroy the whole company and send his dad to jail, though tbf he dad tried getting him to go jail first. And Shiv was the worst of all for me. Not only did she end up aligning herself with Mattsen and costing everyone, including herself, direct ownership of the company just to become essentially a figurehead mouthpice for Mattsen. She then, by the end when I was hoping that Mattsen got fucked and they get power back, turns around and costs them everything like "if I can't get it, no one will". That was incredibly unforseen by me. No way did I think she would have stooped that low.

But yeah, like I said, maybe I saw the betrayals of Ken and Shiv against their families, and especially their siblings, as worse for me because, like it or not, that's your blood the people who have been there with you since you were a child. You shouldn't be sabotaging and snaking your brothers and sisters

Sorry, I put it in my last post. Thought I was the last one here not to have watched it by now.

I think in the end I was with Kendall's team because they kept it it from Mattsen. I wasn't rooting for Tom to take it because, frankly, I never saw it as a possibility until the last episode for those few minutes until they found out and flipped the script on Mattsen. Even then I didn't think mucb of it, because I thought Mattsen was screwing with him again because let's face it, they guy was constantly taking pot shots at him.

Personally I wanted Roman to get it but that was never going to happen either and probably would have ended in a disaster as well because let's face it, he's not as smart as Ken. Then again he did also fuck over Gerri when she seemed like she'd look out for him as well so who knows. It's a big shitshow tbh.

Might give it another watch at some point though, didn't think Tom was that bad because there wasn't that emotion of dude if fucking his family over, but rather some other execs like Cyd and shit.

I am as well which is kind of why I never like either of them. Put it this way, as an example, I've invested significant amounts with my parents, with the investments being in their names. However if it ever came to inheritances, in hopefully the very distant future, I'd not want to contest things with my siblings about I should get X or Y more than the rest because I put X or Y in myself and would rather share it equally, maybe even unfaily to the benefit of those struggling most, as I know I'm more well off than my siblings. I guess my disgust with them is more how I'd relate it to how I'd want to be treating my siblings.

I'm the eldest too. I've never really compared my youngest sister to any TV character, but my middle sister - who I am and have usually always been very close to - used to have some serious Janice Soprano energy. She still does, to a certain extent although she is much calmer these days.
