goon I’m with you. Loved BCS but the average Breaking Bad episode/season was more enjoyable
Think Cranston was almost too successful in his portrayal of Mr Chips turned Scarface, he became almost impossible to root for and the show consequently became very hard to enjoy. I found BB an incredibly difficult watch by the end and felt really that it peaked with the end of season 4 and Gus demise. Everything else seemed a bit pointless after that. Stellar second season though.
Jimmy and Kim also did terrible things in the run of BCS, but I think there was always a sense with them, through the magnificent work of Bob Odenkirk and Rhea Seehorn, that they didn't really want to be doing them. It was just how it was. And the final episode was so beautiful.
Jo and I rewatched Mad Men a couple of years back. Putting it ahead of the Sopranos is contrary, but we absolutely loved it. So many fantastic actors, characters & journeys and, ultimately, episodes. The Suitcase is one of the greatest episodes of TV I've ever seen.
Actually, I'm on the last stretch of Fringe now, nine to go and a little surprised that's not in the mix. It's been a hell of a ride.
