Yeah I'm trying to keep out of this thread as much as possible. Haven't watched any of HOD or Rings, don't think I'll watch them for a while yet, probably binge them at some point. Got too much stuff in my watch list I still haven't got around to watching yet.

They’ve fucked up with HoD, unbelievably dull. I was actually tempted to fast forward parts of episode 4 and zoned out a few times.

Enjoying it a lot more than I expected, wasn't even looking forward to spending more time in this universe after the shitshow that GoT turned into. Based on various reviews and the discussion threads on r/television etc. most seem to like it (and those threads are usually savage when people don't).

Halfway through season 5 of Cobra Kai and I'm surprised at how long they've kept it going without a significant fall in quality. If anything, this season so far is a step up again. Episode 5 was great.

I liked this weeks episode of HotD. Really liked this weeks ROP too. Except the hardfoots, zero interest there.

Does Cobra Kai get better? Watched a couple episodes of the first season and thought it was painfully unfunny, uninteresting etc. Do you need to have watched or like Karate Kid for it to become interesting or something?

Although I don't remember the first episodes specifically it doesn't sound like you'll enjoy it much if you carry on, no. Pretty sure it's similar all the way. It definitely helps to have watched/liked the movies since the show is often making fun of them, but they include flashbacks so it's not a requirement.

If you are too young to remember karate kid or appreciate 80s culture you won’t love this show as much imo. It’s still ok and has Quincy said there’s flashbacks but you can’t beat nostalgia.

I was a karate kid fanatic back in the day (first film I ever saw in the cinema was Karate Kid 2) so this is one of the best shows out there. It’s like a love letter to the original movie. I am surprised it has lasted 5 seasons as they have pretty much milked every idea/concept/throwback to the original movies (I have yet to watch season 5).

Not too young, simply never liked it. Plenty of trashy 80s films I grew up with to be nostalgic of but Karate Kid was always corny to me.

At the start its very much about another perspective on the Karate Kid story.

However its a fun, camp sort of a show. Probably not your cup of tea.

Loved them as a kid, there was three or four. Remember renting them numerous times from Global Video. Hulk Hogan was in one of the later ones.

Agree with that goon, it's been really bland so far and the last episode was the worst of the lot. Qwiss and Quincy just liked it cos of all the sexy business.

It's very overrated - I gave up after season 1

Yeah, there were a few. They were really good fun from the little I remember. Randomly remembered that "Rocky loves Emily" line reading this thread about the Karate Kid nostalgia.

I'll probably download it to watch with my son in a couple years. Probably a little bit for myself as well haha. Cant believe it's going on 25-30 years,
