Just finished Ozark and actually really liked the final episode. I think it was a fitting ending for the show.
I watched the second part of season four over the past couple of days, had no spoilers so it was pretty intriguing.
The writing was pretty snappy and the twists kept me engaged, but everything moved too quickly in the final episode and certain of those plot twists should've been set up more thoroughly. Probably somewhere between Quince and Daz in my take, they took it in the right general direction, but I would've liked it to be darker, and for the subplot involving Nathan to be expanded since that's where the real emotional impact ended up for me.
It was one of those shows where a lot of trauma is inflicted on the leads, but only some of those wounds were given time to land with the viewer, notably the stuff involving Wyatt and Ben—but then that was because that stuff became the main engine of the final plotlines.
Overall it's been a good show which managed to finish up with dignity but could've been greater. Libbey, Garner and Bateman were all pretty exceptional and I enjoyed that they were so tangled with the series creatively.
