Some episodes aren't available and some have warnings for cultural inappropriateness, which seems weird at first, but it was made in the 70s.

Warnings are fine, much better than just removing the episodes. They've also added Scrubs with the episodes Netflix had removed for being offensive.

Yeah I agree, I meant it seems weird that The Muppets might have been offensive in any way, except towards Fozzie of course. Apparently one episode features the Confederate flag for example.

Finished BSG, the final season wasn't nearly as bad or stupid as I remembered. Underrated series imo. Pleasantly surprised to hear they're making a new series that won't be a reboot. Not sure how that's going to work, feels like Moore's version limits where you can really go with it.

Yeah, and I've just read The Martian (great book) and the main guy talks about watching The Dukes of Hazzard. How far do people go?

Ideological movements always swing to and fro before finding their most accepted position I guess.

They made a show called Caprica too which I quite liked but it never took off and got cancelled pretty quick. I'm surprised BSG hasn't had a big afterlife on streaming, it's really good.

its a continuation? hmm I assumed it was a reboot, but a continuation of that universe would odd, but interesting given how things ended

Yeah Caprica was pretty good, probably too different to BSG to carry the same fanbase though.

Well they haven't actually gone into specifics but the 'all of this has happened before, all of this will happen again' is a pretty easy out that would in effect make it a reboot.

Have you watched Björnstad / Beartown, Klaus? Never heard of it until today when I saw that it's on HBO, but it's been pretty well received critically.

I haven't! I've never read the book either. I like Fredrik Backman though. A Man Called Ove was a really good film based on another one of his books. I did read a review of Beartown the other day that made me want to watch it. If you check it let me know if it's any good!

WandaVision is great, very different. I don’t know why but I had no recollection of Wanda from the avengers (yes I’ve seen them all inc. Age of Ultron) and I didn’t even recognise Vision until later.

I timed it so I could binge in time for episode 9 but had no idea the episodes we so short so I’ve finished ahead of schedule. Why the hell are the end credits 10 mins long?

Pretty much everything on Disney+ has crazy credits. My daughter was watching some Muppets shorts that were a minute or two each with 5 minutes of credits after them.

I recently started watching Treme and I think it's the best thing I've ever seen on HBO aside from The Sopranos. The way it's filmed, the people, the music, it's just incredible. I can't believe a show like this exists, never mind managed to run for four seasons.

That's the show with the Wire cast right? That alone should've made me watch it a long time ago, the background is very interesting as well

Been meaning to go back to that for ages. Just sort of glossed over it while it was on but I'm a big fan of most of David Simons other work. Need to watch Show Me a Hero too.

Yeah that's the one. Wendell Pierce does one of the main roles playing a broke-ass trombonist. It's about a neighbourhood in post-flood New Orleans viewed primarily through its music culture. The show is environment and character driven to an even greater degree than The Wire. There are some fantastic real-life jazz and blues artists doubling as actors on the show.

Definitely watching it then, Nola music scene and culture is among the most interesting in the US.

Halfway through Sense8 second season. Christ what a fucking car crash that show is, after the Matrix and V for Vendetta this is the third project of the Wachowskis I've watched and they seem to have gotten worse with every project. Started off vaguely interesting but degenerated into a rambling incoherent mess with every episode including like 70% scenes that look like they had way too much creative control for their own good.

Do you have to have an interest in the music and culture to like it?
