FWIW I didn't think it was that bad, certainly not bad enough to explain the huge discrepancy in RT audience ratings from season 3 or 4.

But yeah, the moment they decided to line up Chuck against Axe at the end of season 4 again you just knew the writers got lazy. Throwing in another token adversary for Axe doesn't help either.

Was also hilarious when Showtime shamelessly got Chuck to promote Dexter ffs.

it was always a handsome yet vacuous show, like most of showtimes big budget content. the wheel spinning added on top has knocked it off my list of show to bother continuing with

I agree that Gangs of London's story is pretty lacklustre, but some of the sequences are breathtaking. Just watched episode 4 and the final scene with the dinner party is perfectly executed. Once Gareth Evans realizes that he shouldn't write his own scripts he'll achieve at least John Wick-like success in Hollywood if that's what he wants.

Feels like there's a dearth of shows to watch. Planning on watching Queens Gambit and will eventually pick up S2 of The Mandalorian when that's done, other than that, feels like everything else is pending.

Production was stopped for ages on most shows during the first few months of the corona lock downs, hopefully we'll get a deluge of stuff after Xmas to make up for these lean months.

Wife and I are two episodes in. Have been very enjoyable. I was starting to grow weary of Netfix which has the same mediocre TV show selection around the world and reduced movie library in South Africa.

Season 2 of Warrior is kinda awesome. I'm well annoyed now that there probably won't be a season 3.

I enjoyed Queens Gambit too. Definitely worth a watch.
I'm now deep into season 2 of Bloodline and really enjoying that too.

There won't? Been waiting for season 2 to be done before I start it. Hope there is a proper ending if there won't be a third season.

That's a shame if true. Really enjoed season 1

Currently watching the deuce. For anyone who enjoyed the wire, it has a very similar slow burn structure. Like the wire interconnected the various slices of life in Baltimore, the deuce does something similar with 70s new york. Half the wire cast pops up as well

There has been no official cancellation yet, but Cinemax don't do original programming anymore. Warner for all intents and purposes closed them down when they launched HBO Max and I think they only exist as a movie channel now. No one has picked up Warrior since then, and I've read that most of the actors have been looking for other work. I think when you factor in how expensive the show is to make and what an outlier it is, employing mostly unknown asian-american actors, the outlook is pretty grim, and that's before even considering the impact of covid-19 on the whole business.

The free ones never work well for me, especially with stuff like Netflix. I use Nord which is a little more on the pricier side unless you get it on a deal, but works flawlessly with Netflix.

There's usually a gotcha with free vpns that makes them not worth using. Pay the few bucks a month for a proper one

I don't even pay for Netflix, not going to for a VPN which I'll use for one show. Don't mind a caveat here or there if it means it's free
