Started watching Z Nation a while back. Expected glorious trash and got exactly what I bargained for, but also found a show that is genuinely better than The Walking Dead at basically everything. No dull, dreadful dialogue and exhausting flashbacks.
They did a mini series prequel thing about the beginning of the outbreak called Black Summer that is rather good too, albeit very different. No characters overlap, and it's more like Dawn of the Dead (the 04 version) in tone, much scarier and rawer than the parodic anything goes attitude of Z Nation. Jaime King plays the main. Apparently it got a second season order before corona hit.
