The hbo show is outstanding. Lindelof has polished alot of the same story elements that worked so well in lost, but this time things don't go off the rails

Finally watched my second ep. of BlackMirror. Went with USS Callister. Good fun. Jesse Plemons is always great.

Any episodes in particular that folks here would recommend?

I like these, and most other people do as well:

White Christmas
Hang the DJ
The Entire History of You
San Junipero (probably the most popular episode)

I also like:
Shut Up and Dance
White Bear

but those two are controversial choices. Many hate them, so not something I'd recommend.

I'd avoid Bandersnatch, Striking Vipers and The Waldo Moment (unless you're going to watch all of them).

I would wait a bit before watching San Junipero. You want a good dose of the dark and depressing stuff first

I watched USS Callister and San Junipero. The former was decent, the latter meh

I loved the Watchmen movie but I doubt it's rewatchable.

Doesn't quite have the same Fargo feel as the other seasons because of the setting, but looking forward to it nonetheless. Almost seems like a different show though.

That looks like a refreshing change TBH. Might actually watch that, didn't bother with season 3.

Watched all of Dracula, jesus that last episode is one of the worst things I've ever seen. I think I'm done Moffatt and Gatiss, I can't deal with how smug their shows are.

Season 3 is still worth a watch to be honest, depending on how much you like the series in general I guess. It always takes a couple of episodes to get into it.

I really liked the third season of Fargo. It may not have had the tension of season 1 or the richness of the supporting cast of season 2, but it was still very good. V.M Varga was a beautifully written and acted character, a truly memorable TV villain.

I liked the third season a lot too. There was a different vibe to it, but I don't think it was worse than the previous ones. Carrie Coon, David Thewlis and Ewan McGregor all put in terrific performances as terrific characters.

In retrospect the first season is probably the weakest one, but it's also the one most similar to the film in terms of story and aesthetics, and I think that was a major hook for a big part of the critics. It always seems to get the most hype for those reasons. It was still very good though. The second season is probably my favourite followed by the third, but the first is not far behind either.

Lester and Malvo are probably two of my favourite characters from any show, they probably made season 1 the most memorable for me. But yeah, I don’t think there’s much between any of them.

I like all of them as well, but the second is my favorite. Expected to see Bokeem Woodbine a lot after that as I think he did such a good role, but don't remember seeing him in much. Actually, the entire cast of season 2 is pretty sick. Think I liked the first one better than the third because it had such a clear and simple narrstive, but I appreciate that they don't do the same thing over and over again.

Have you seen In the Shadow of the Moon, Quincy? If not I'd strongy recommend that you don't read anything about it beforehand and just give it a go at some point when you're in the mood for a good thriller. It's on Netflix currently. It was made by Jim Mickle (Stake Land, Cold in July, Hap & Leonard) and it has Woodbine in a supporting role. I thought he was very good in it. It's the sort of film you would have been delighted to dig out of a shelf in an old VHS rental store. I think you'd like it.

I liked season 1, wasn't as impressed with season 2. Show hinges on the cast for me, the new one has Chris Rock and Jason Schwarzman so I'll watch that.

Would you be terribly upset if I did? I thought season 2 was mostly disjointed and the performances incredibly overrated. I'm not a massive Coens stan anyway so maybe its just not for me.
