Agree with that myself, it would've been really tedious if the important back story from the banquet and wedding scene, for example, had been framed very heavy-handedly with some sort of "woo, I'm remembering my past" device.
THE WITCHER was pretty fun. I think the show needs a little more emotional range. Enjoyed the little bard guy because he broke up the monotone mood a bit, it should be funnier overall.
It's been a bit of a hit for Netflix, anyway. If something like this can be successful, I'll be interested to see if the Elric TV series project gets up:
