Saw the last 20 minutes of a CL tie from 1994. Was Man U v IFK Gothenburg from Sweden. Only 20 years ago, but Gothenburg beat Man U 3-1 to advance to the QF. Man U had players like Pallister, McClair, Bruce, Ince, Cantona, Hughes, Irwin, and a very, very young Gary Neville. Striking thing was that Man U at the time was not a better side than the Swedes! Not physically stronger, not fitter, not technically or tactically superior. At the end of the game when shirts were being swapped, you could literally see that the physical status of the players then was nowhere near what it is today. Not a six pack as far as the eye could see, and Steve Bruce was downright overweight. 20 years on, Swedish teams are pretty much at the same level, but the PL has just exploded and is miles and miles better.

Where have all the good players gone?

Michael Bleedin' Owen ahead of Bergkamp and Davids 😆

Wow, those were dark days for Germany and Spain.

I guess that's what led to the changes at grass roots level that have gained them their success in recent years.

Simeone's training gassed out Vietto (Simeone laughed at his stamina too), who apparently claimed one of his training equates to three trainings from other coaches! 😆

It's not a sad story at all. At the beginning of his career he was hungry and ambitious. Then he got rich, a bit older, and complacent. The end.

That was amazing. Those Argentines are crazy.

Klaus and Gareth Bale have at least one thing in common...

They're just jealous because they wanted that shirt too.

I would kill for a striker like that who bullies defenders all over the pitch instead of the other way around.

Throwing elbows is hardly bullying. Good way to get sent off though. As he should have been.

Not much use of having a good striker once he's off with a red. PSG might tell you from their CL experience last season.

That was hardly an elbow, if he really did one, Terry would be out cold.

LMAO..   Are you actually watching the same video?   "hardly an elbow"?    wut?

Can't see any elbows thrown either, nothing to see here at all.

Yeah, it was as deliberate as they come. Zlatan is an asshole, and I don't think he has forgotten the Chelsea players doing their utmost to get him sent off, and Terry was at the heart of that. Terry even stepped on Oscar's head in his eagerness to get to the ref! 🙂

Zlatan may be an asshole (and he is), but I have zero problems with him throwing an elbow into Terry's head..

Stuttgart are beating City 4-0 and it's only half time!

City have a strong starting eleven on.

Honestly can't see city putting up a title challenge with Kompany and Mangala at the back. Haven't seen the goals but apparently they're at fault again.

They are just two big lumps with about 1 brain cell between the two of them.

Match finished 4-2 to Stuttgart. City scored two late consolation goals. Good assists from Sterling for both.

Mangala was shit but Kompany was different class.
Diabolical level 10.
Hauled off at half time.

Last minute equalizer and the winning penalty against Bayern. Can't get any better for Nicklas.

I was right about Bendtner all along. World domination incoming.

Just watched Nicklas' goal and pen - I can't help but be happy for him. Hope he actually gets somewhere with his career.

Now that was plain rude 🙂

Hahaha. That boi got pwned!
