Benzema is a pipe dream. Forget him. Actually the mere mention of his name as a potential signing is starting to annoy me now.

So was Ozil two years ago.

So was Arshavin 6 years ago... according to USArsenal  :egg:

Debuchy posted the picture above of Rosicky and Cech on his Instagram account on Tuesday morning and wrote: “Well done Tom! Mission complete. What a sign #PetrCech #WelcomeCech”

Dick Law out, Tomas Rosicky in.

Seriously though, it's nice to see all our players excited by the transfer as well. Boost in the dressing room and all that.

And its great that we have players who can actually have an influence of other great players joining.

hoping for Alexis to get us Vidal.

Yes!!! And when Vidal comes he'll bring Pogba with him!

And pogba will bring Buffon with him, and we'll have upgraded goalkeeper twice in one summer. #ruthlessnesssquared

Is that a before and after pic?

Arteta's looking at him and going: "... Petr, please put the helmet back on."

Fuck you, you follically-obsessed cunts. Petr is rocking the thinning look for the rest of us. Don't need the thickness in this heat anyway.

Not really, in what world is that supposed to be a serious post. Just flew over the top of your presumably hairy head.

how the hell has Wellbeck not recovered from a bone bruise that happened BEFORE the FA Cup final?

He's got boneitis#ThenewDiaby.

Why the fuck is he wearing his silly hat at training, is he expecting many challenges from Diaby?

These things happen. A training ground accident at Arsenal broke Rami Shaaban's leg and ended his career.

That scar Cech has on the right side of his mouth is from when he collided with Tal Ben Haim on the training ground a few years ago and ended up with 50 stitches, his face split completely open.

A goalkeeper being concerned about collisions in training never mind during a game is.......Not good.

A keeper gets fifty stitches to the face because he isn't concerned about collisions—if he wears a helmet after that, it's probably because he wants to continue not being concerned.

Or he could make a diving save and by accident his head might come down hard on the ground. Happened to me in a game the other week and got up seeing stars. Was an artificial pitch which tend to be a bit hard though. Or he could take the ball to the side of the head. It's probably sensible not to take the risk isn't it?

The fact that he still goes into challenges after a piece of his skull was left on the Madjeski says it all. Anyway, he wears that stupid helmet because another blow to the point where his skull had previously cracked would make things complicated.

Biggus is trying to be needlessly retro again.

A helmet is a sign you want to avoid injuries and you expect collisions, simple as that.

He looks much cooler with the hat, should keep it.

Like I said before he should wear the helmet all the time. It could be his thing. Like Fonzi's leather jacket. And no one will ever know he's going bald.

You train how you mean to play.

FWIW I reckon he doesn't need the helmet anymore but wears it because he's sponsored to.

Of course he doesn't need the helmet any more than other keepers but I'm pretty sure it's a mental thing with him. He had a scare with his head injury and the helmet is an easy fix.

When Biggus was playing he was more concerned about stopping the ball going into the goal.

So Biggus, you think Chelsea's goalkeeper situation ever since Cech's injury until Courtois arrived was... concerning?

Now now Quincy, get with it, the theme here is: Wenger signed Cech so clearly Cech is defective, beyond his best.

What does this even mean apart from pointless grand standing? Biggus never had a life threatening head injury.

As Klaus pointed out, having a helmet didn't stop him from going into a save head first and nor did affect his performances in subsequent years. So your argument is invalid.

I don't know much about brain surgery and neither do you, but I think it's entire reasonable for Cech to continue to wear a helmet so that he doesn't risk getting injured in exactly the same place again which would certainly be a disaster. Or maybe it is just a mental - in which case, who fucking care. I'd be scarred for life as well if I nearly died playing football.

This what the inside of Cech's head looks like - it's certainly not back to normal.

Cech added: "I keep collecting scars. The clash in training tore my face open and when I saw the reaction of the other players, I knew it was serious.
"When I looked in the mirror, I was shocked. The bottom half of my face had come away. But the surgeon did a good job and it shows I haven't changed my style of play.
"When I need to dive in at people's feet, I only have one goal, to save the ball whatever it takes. The downside of football is injuries, but you cannot control that."

It's like he read your post, Biggus.

Amongst other things I was scarred, from a kick right below the eye.
But I stopped a goal, and anyway chicks dig scars.

Thats football it goes with the territory.
