What's all this even about? how does the helmet change the game in the slightest?
Only thing I can see here is aesthetic, and some rather irrelevant preferences in that way.
On the other hand - you can certainly argue their strength - are claims in favor, which in no way can harm.
helps psychologically? anything wrong with that? improves safety - surely nothing bad about that.
Can't see the fixation - "the boy with the helmet". Think the helmet is a really good thing (in the way Mirth above put it).
In the NBA you see players with masks covering their faces, noses, etc., American Football is a game of some of the most extraordinary athletic achievements - all while wearing medieval armor like protection.
Sure - football is different, and we love it as it's a flowing game, and can't have too much on the players. But (as Banduan I think mentioned) it would be suicidal to play without shin-pads. How is Cech's hat even felt, compared to the above?
IMO it's always healthy to look for ways you can improve - provided you're not blind to possible negative effects.
No such thing here. I still say - let all keepers wear them. Some mom/wife/kid will thank you soon for this.
Finally - whoever suggested keepers are just like other players in that respect - :brow: ? don't you guys watch football at all ?
