I don't see us playing a 442 anytime soon,
and I don't see AW signing another CM better suited to sitting deeper as it goes against his wanting to play high in the opposition half. He also sees a DM / ball winner as a wasted position if they can not also contribute going forward, which is why we see a DLP rather than a DM.
IMO we're more in need of a player who can not only provide a defensive contribution, but also able to drive the ball forward and able to pass. TBH I'm surprised we've not been linked to a move for Rabiot as yet.

That's pretty much exactly what Matic does. He'd be a dream signing. Top player.

He's always reminded me of Song (albeit with better positioning). You could tell he's a failed attacking midfielder.

Fabinho remains my dream CM signing.

I would give anything for Fabinho too. If it's true that he has a release clause it's pretty mindboggling that we haven't met it yet.

I don't think we are selling Sanchez. Even our stupid Board can see that. We'd probably make up the 50M we would lose by letting him go on a free next season if we made it to CL next season.

Lemar is not enough. He's not going to replace what Sanchez gives us. Wenger has played Walcott and Lacazette in Sanchez's positions in these two friendlies, might only be pre-season but I think he knows full well he needs a player next to Ozil that can get 20+ goals. Lemar would do well to get 10 in all competitions, even if he played Sanchez's position all season. He's not a goal scorer at all, not a brilliant incisive passer like Sanchez either.

This could all go very bad, very quickly.
