Giroud will want to play regular games in World Cup year and knows the £52m arrival of Lacazette could limit his chances and may tempt him to go.

But he has stayed and fought for his place before.

Arsenal are likely to be realistic but would want in excess of £30m and Wenger has always remained a fan and would want to keep him in an ideal world.

Arsenal’s other new signing Sead Kolasinac is on the flight as is rookie left back Cohen Bramall but it is confirmed there is no place for Kieran Gibbs, Carl Jenkinson and Mathieu Debuchy which signals their likely departures.

Wojciech Szczesny is still an Arsenal player but is believed to be in negotiations with Juventus.

Krystian Bielik, Ainsley Maitland-Niles, Donyell Malen, Reiss Nelson, Eddie Nketiah and Joe Willock are the youngsters on board the flight from London out to Sydney.

They arrive on Tuesday morning Sydney time for a press conference, play two local teams then go to China where they play Bayern Munich and Chelsea.

As expected, Jack Wilshere and Gabriel have stayed behind as they are currently recovering from injury.

so, gibbs, szczney, debuchy, and jenkinson look gone. perez too maybe. but that might be contingent on what giroud does.

Di Marzio is reporting the same thing and he is supposed to be as reliable for these things in Italy as Ornstein is for our transfers.

yea thats been doing the rounds for weeks.

seems fine to me. it was obvious wenger doesn't rate him, and honestly after his numerous howlers a few seasons ago, i dont blame him.

that said, we really need to find a young, top tier keeper because cech has like 1 season left (hopefully) at the top level. he looked shaky last season.

He hasn't been as reliable for the past 2 years. Got most of the things wrong.

Szczesny to Juve has been the story for 5 weeks now though so there's definitely something in it.

Wenger seemed quite adamant that Giroud will be staying, good news if true. Feels like Wenger wants to keep everyone though.

Froim Barca's perspective they both fill the same need I'd imagine. I don't think anyone's gonna bench Busquets as the base of the midfield. If Verratti goes to Barca he'll be used in a box to box role for the next 4-5 years.

Barcelona's first choice is still Paulinho though, although Guangzhou has consistently rejected their bids.

No, but Verratti understands that PSG won't sell him and now blames his agent for everything. Barcelona seems to have moved on.

Yeah Ox is really easily replaced. Take what we can get for him and just buy a genuine right wing back instead.
