WHU seem to have denied any interest in Theo.
Edit: Ricky just beat me to the punch.

Slightly worried about remaining lumbered with Theo if West Ham don't sign him...

the sooner you all realize we are stuck with this horrible player that wenger decided was worth 140k a week the better off you will be. there is no market for him. clubs like west ham can't even promote him as some england international. their fans know he's shit. everyone knows it. it's not like he's playing for some little club that people don't follow. if he was on 80k a week there would be a market. the best we can hope for is that he starts performing to the qualities that wenger must have seen in him to sign off on such ridiculous wages.

Kieran Gibbs linked in a few different places with a move to Liverpool. I can see that happening, think he'd do well there as their starting left back. Even though he has disappointed me over the years with his lack of improvement, injuries have more than played their part I'm sure, I'll miss Kieran being at Arsenal. Good guy, been here a long time and is a good player too. If he does move on, I hope he does well for himself.

As an aside, I also hope us selling Gibbs to Liverpool means we get Ben Chilwell from Leicester ahead of them. He looks a serious talent to me. And as I'm happy with Nacho for next season, I'd take us signing Chilwell over Rodriguez - spend the millions we save on a position that will really make a difference next season.

Once we bring in a forward/AM combination, it is imperative that we shift Walcott.
Meatwad rightly points out that we have limited the Walcott market by giving him a 140,000 pound per week contract that takes him to 2019. That means that we still owe this guy another 21 million pounds to do very little. I would happily take 15 million pounds, shift that 21 million pounds and be 36m pounds better off on the Walcott situation.
The team that takes him can spend the 15m pounds, give him a signing bonus of 6m pounds and give him a 15m pound 3 year contract to keep him whole. Everyone will be happy with that outcome.

Walcott still remains less of a problem than Ox despite the constant hate for the former.

Wouldn't call it "hate", don't like the suggestion that people are irrational just because they'd like to see someone gone who's producing very little. Agree that Ox produces even less but he's probably on not even half of what Theo earns.

There aren't the same kind of expectations on Ox yet. He's a developing player. Walcott has been a first teamer for a decade now. He's the third or fourth highest earner at the club. He's the kind of guy you'd expect to chip in with 15-20 goals and some match-winning displays. Instead he lost us more points than he earned last season. I like Theo but that was a complete horseshit year from him. It was the type of season an established player shouldn't be allowed to have.

i dont have any hard data to back this up, its a general sense i have. i feel like players tend to peak in their late 20s is as much to do with their mental approach as it is to do with physical decline. use walcott as an example. what does he have to play for at this point? hes not a world class talent and hes likely past the age where madrid or barca or bayern would be interested in him should he have an amazing season. hes already at a club a level below them and hes on ridiculous wages. what can motivate him? he was playing for his england place this season to have a shot at a major tournament. and he had a shockingly poor season.

all he has left to play for is pride. he'll still get another contract after this one because hes english and still has some name recognition. but his career has basically run its course

And Walcott costs a lot, Ox is peanuts in comparison. Ox has a greater impact in general game play anyway.

10 bloody years of Theo has returned a total of 1 satisfying season. It's not enough and no other top clubs would persists so long.

Evening Standard saying West Ham will bid £25m for Theo

Chairman's son, Jack Sullivan, who has a reputation for blabbing about their transfer dealings, tweeted saying West Ham have no interest in either Walcott or Chamberlain.

Great.

Poor guy doesn't want to piss of West Ham fans by associating the club with our scrubs.

No wonder Jamie is taking his time to think about the 120k he's reportedly being offered. 😆

and the agent that negotiated those wages for walcott is also vardy's agent. after the enthusiasm of vardy getting a big pay raise at a club like arsenal wore off the agent was like "hey i got walcott 140k a week, WTF are we doing agreeing to this?"

Don't think he'll move.

Houseboat. Makes no sense to sell anyway.

Doesn't make sense for Ramsey to want to go there either.

Nah it's a step down.

For the moment is it. We're the squad with the better players as of right now.
