The fee I've seen bandied about was a good bit closer to 30m if I recall correctly. He's gone to shit a bit but was still one of the main reasons Chelsea won their title last year, more imrportantly at the time we sold him he was 24 and showed himself to be genuinely world class for a couple seasons. Think if he was open to go elsewhere we'd have gotten a lot more

It was rising to £35m as I recall, but a lot of different figures were put about. We paid £42m for Özil later, and bitched about it forever. Other world class midfielders will still be changing hands for those sorts of valuations this summer.

Euros Burnsy not pounds.

He should have been sat in the stands until he was open to go elsewhere.

Says pounds on wiki and numerous other sources, euros in some other places, then there's the bit about him paying us his sign-on fee in instalments. It was a fair price, some also forget it came after we'd already forced him to remain an additional season under duress.

Great business for us if true. No reason for Theo to not accept it either. He could even keep living in London.

Wenger needs to push hard to get rid of him though, otherwise he'll just turn down offers from clubs like that.

Good move. Means we need another CB though.

Debuchy and Monreal.

neither of which are actual CB's..   we needed another CB regardless of Chambers leaving, but now i think we would really need one

Manolas anyone?

Lot of the transfer window remaining, but it would be just like Wenger to leave a glaring hole in the squad.

If we let Chambers go, we must be getting a new CB as well.

Get Manolas in, loan out Chambers.

For the forthcoming 16/17 season slowly phase out Per, he'll be a free agent come the end of the season.

Koscielny/Manolas/Chambers/Gabriel for 2017/18 season will be great if all goes to plan.

We're lining up a proper transfer season huh?

Ridiculous Wenger couldn't have accomplished some of this last season.

Chairman's son, Jack Sullivan, who has a reputation for blabbing about their transfer dealings, tweeted saying West Ham have no interest in either Walcott or Chamberlain.
