Yep, too injury prone, development has stalled. Judging by tonight's game, Willock should be the next youngster in line on merit as well

Gnabry has missed so many years of crucial development now. Anyone who thought he'd be a solid Premier League player might need to rethink. I'd be surprised if he ever returns to the top division once we let him go.

Last world cup there was talk of him making the squad, Low mentioned him in a press conference or something. Gnabry was having his breakthrough in the first team at the time and doing well.

Wild guess, but the 2014 World Cup, because he was 14 for the one before that...

I remember Löw mentioning him but I thought it was earlier, feels like ages he's had his "breakthrough" in the first team. Don't believe Löw ever seriously considered it, a U-18 national with like 15 top flight appearances doesn't remotely warrant a standing like that, more likely Löw gave him a couple nice words to tie him down to the German NT in the future

There are other World Cups than the senior one. It's a legitimate question because maybe at 18 he'd have an outsider's chance for the U-20 or U-21 WC but sure as shit not for the one in Brazil
