Really? Where did I say to ignore it?
All you're doing is painting a victim mentality with no options or accountability.
When you make the point that his outburts should be punished here with no way back. The suggestion would be that he should be able to take endless abuse for years without it ever getting the better of him. He should be able to just ignore it.
Your point was he should be punished you wanted not to sell him but to shunt him to the reserves and refuse to sell him until the summer.
I was making thr point that he'd been bullied for years until he eventually exploded and bullying him more like dropping him to the reserves to just sell him at a later date when hes further devalued by his relationship with the club being worse would be like drinking poison and expecting someone else to die.
We dont use him properly, we still pay his wages and we get less for him.
He didnt just decide to tell fans to f off you need to see it in context. He got bullied to breaking point. And had just had a new child. I added that context because that's what sets up the whole situation. If fans didnt give him shit for years, would he have snapped? It's pretty obvious that he wouldnt have. He's not blameless. But fans laying all the blame at his feet are doing some mental gymnastics.
Bollocks.
I'm not suggesting he put up with endless abuse for years, I am saying there is no need to keep yourself exposed to it. If he has done so then he's an idiot.
I also suggest it is wrong to equate sledging and barracking at matches as being the same as personal abuse from online trolls = they are not the same thing and to make that claim is akin to 'excuse culture'. It's an unfortunate and disagreeable part of life in the public eye that in doing so it paints a target on your back for a variety of gutless shit heads and nut bags. That said it is not restricted to sport, politics or media (music film etc), but even people involved in Emergency Services (Police, Fire, Ambulance, Hospitals) are also subjected to similar abuse in the course of their work, and are expected to put up with it as part of the job and aren't being paid millions in doing so.
Xhaka's response v C Palace was a gross breach of behaviour let alone from the Captain & despite his performances of late I want him gone from the club - preferably this Jan window. Not just because of what he did, but more so because he hasn't made an apology to anyone and instead has tried to justify his actions. I understand the context and scenario but I also reject them as being wrong and no justification for his outburst.
Bottom line for me is there needs to be a consequence to his outburst, and I do not think him losing the Captaincy is a strong enough message, even more so when he has not shown any remorse. That said I also recognise that it is not my decision to make and Arteta has said that everyone has a clean slate. As such I don't think there is any point in continuing this debate.
I've already explained my scenario re sitting him out for the rest of the season was a response if he then went on strike to try to force a move.
