Auba to China is tempting for a huge fee, but wherever he goes, it would require a large fee.

So what say y’all? Say we get ridiculous offer for Auba and the mooted 70-80m for Laca? Sell them both? Gut it? Start over?

That would be completely nuts. If we sold both men, we'd have no team. We could actually risk being a bottom half team next season. No joke.
Selling Lacazette, though, and getting a Pepe, might be sensible. Pep can play striker. And then working through our other needs with the transfer funds, and the money raised from Ozil etc, would be good. I am for selling one.
The reason we don't sell one is this 1 year contract left for the manager. It really scares me. Incentives are really misaligned

I’d do an Auba deal for close to world record money, say 180-200m. Sell Laca for 80m, and we have some good cash. Plus the 40m warchest, we can actually then look at a real rebuild with young talent from wherever Edu and Devito think they are to be found. We didn’t want to let Sanchez go, when we should’ve. Lost all that money. Complained. Didn’t let Ramsey go, lost all that cedar. Had a moan.

Let’s face it, this Europa ride is for real now, and right now, they are our only quality players, which is what makes them actually dispensable...
