Might as well offload Elneny. I like him and would prefer Xhaka to go but we need to free space for future incomings.

Why would you guys get rid of El Neny? He had a solid 2nd half of last season. Low frills but reliable player at a time when we need another one of our (now injured) central midfielders AMN to fill in at left back. I would keep him.
The bigger issue in midfield is how do we fit our high-earning pieces like Ramsey, Ozil, Xhaka, Mkhitaryan together in a starting lineup?

IMO there are a number of options that will enable you to do so.

However the real question is how to do it and let them play as they did under AW,
to which the answer is you don't.

Nor should you want to do so for the simple reason being that it didn't work.
Because it was unbalanced and self indulgent of players doing what they wanted, and neglecting what they should do for the sake of the team performance and outcomes.

As it stands Rambo is still on my list of players to be sold.

and just as importantly IMO he was a liability v MC in that he failed to provide what I understand Emery wants from his CAM.
IMO Ozil is still the better option.

And your understanding of what Emery wants from any player could be wrong.

Ramsey came back from a niggle having missed a couple of friendlies and to me it looked like he was trying to execute a very defined role unlike one he has played in the past. That itself had Emery's stamp on it.

You would have thought that maybe last summer as Sanchez and Ozil were playing this game the club might have made sure they secured Ramsey then. 2 years is a long time for a guy with Ramseys injury issues.

Worse still we have the same issue with Welbeck and he's rubbish. We should make an example of him. If he wont move on then make him a non-entity for the year. I'm tired of shit players on high wages abusing us. If you are that concerned about your wages fine, you take em but don't expect the club to make room for you in the mean time when you are not wanted.

our highest earners are incredibly flawed so we'll remain an incredibly flawed team until they are gone and we get worthy high earners.

Elneny should have started against City. He's a better player than Xhaka. If we're not gonna play him we might as well sell him, sure, but he should be capable of contributing plenty this season and our squad is thin.

Bring Back Kerrea Gilbert

He can certainly pass and move better, even in deep areas, compared with Xhaka.
