5 assists and 3 goals in 22 starts for a 21yr old in a largely dysfunctional attack really isn't bad at all never mind pathetic. Would only take a marginal improvement to be matching the figures of more established PL forwards.
Arsenal fans seem to have some warped ideas about the sort of output young players should have. Not everyone is a Fabregas.

He's got 3 goals in about 40 appearances.
That's about a cb level of scoring.
Then again you've had warped ideas of attacking players anyway.
