We should've sold him last summer when we had the chance. He's a classic underperforming, overrated English player. He is a disaster, tactically, and he doesn't really have the right attributes to be effective in today's specialised midfields.
Imo, when he plays further up the pitch, he's just taking Ramsey's rightful spot. Ramsey is a superior player in almost every way, and he'd be even better there, where he can create turnovers with his high pressing, and goals/assists (something that Wilshere has never been able to do).
In my mind, I picture a front four of Auba, Ozil, Ramsey, and Mhiki, with 2 actual CMs behind them. That's good, if maybe a little light on scoring ability.
