I'd imagine it's not allowed. He's not in the squad anyway

Would have preferred it if he could have got a move to a Championship club, but the important thing is he plays. Let's see how he does. Big few months for his hopes at Arsenal.

Akpom and Plezueguelo loans to clubs in Belgium and France have been confirmed as well.

Giroud clearly cares about the club, but that Monaco game still haunts me, and will be my lasting memory of him.

As much as I've grown to like Giroud, my overall feeling is we gave Chelsea someone who is not really part of our starting XI while signing our best player to a new contract and bringing in a big name, top class striker. You'd think we were the club bankrolled by an oligarch in this scenario.

I don't reckon he would (at least not in an over the top way). Have to admit I've come to really like Giroud and it's a bit shit to see him sign for the scumbags, but it's probably a move that makes sense for him.

He desperately needs first team football and he was saying at the start of the window that his lengthy injury has put a few previously interested clubs off.

To put his price in perspective, they have him on an 18 month deal. Nobody at Chelsea was going to pay 30 million pounds on a player they’d keep for 18 months with no resale value. He’s 32, nearing the end of his prime years. The price is fine.

Think it was more the valuations being bandied around for Dzeko that struck a nerve. It's a decent sum and more than we paid for him after years of decent service, which is a great thing to be able to say.

We just did Giroud a solid because he's been a good servant of the club. No problem with that at all.
