I'm not going to moan about us selling him to Chelsea. He obviously chose them over Dortmund - a good alternative, even if Dortmund isn't London - he's 32 years old, I've done little but moan about him for the past couple of seasons because he simply isn't good enough to play as our main man up front, and also because I really don't think he will pull up any trees for Chelsea either

He'll score a fair number of goals for the rentboys but he really isn't good enough for the football we aspire to play.

I'm put off by the move, but I suppose it's a fair move/decision for him, and probably enabled us signing Ozil/Auba.

Just a shame as it will (slightly) tarnish his legacy here. He isn't anywhere near our top tier, but out of our players from the last ₁₀ years he's been likeable and a steady contributor. Can only think of Kos, Ramsey, Ozil and possibly Sanchez/Monreal more favorably than him.
