And Julio Pleguezuelo has already joined Segunda B side, Nàstic Tarragona, on loan for the rest of the season.

Yeah, I mean, I don't mind the sale if it was a must to get Aubameyang over the line but we need to extract more money. We are desperate to get Aubameyang in it seems. Don't like the Giroud sale at all but just in principle, the club doing whatever it takes to get a player we want, that doesn't happen often. Hopefully, it doesn't bite us in the short term. Long term we will be better off.

Express reporting the £15m Giroud deal. Not sure if it’s just a rehash, criminally low if so. Supporting Chelsea get points is so dumb and Giroud will move to be backup yet again. Doesn’t make huge sense.

selling to chelsea makes no fucking sense other than he gets to stay in london. i mean, i know we're done playing them for the season, but why strengthen them and allow them to stay ahead of us? this would be really unfortunate if it turns out to be true

Ornstien reporting that we agreed a £20m fee with Chelsea but they're now trying to drive the fee down, so we're minded to cancel the deal and try to shift him to Dortmund again.

Giroud is a very good striker. Selling to Chelsea when they are in dire straits makes no sense. If I told you that our two strikers are Aubameyang and Giroud, you'd be very happy. People have been soured by the fact that Giroud was too high up in a pecking order that included jokers like Welbeck. But in a normal situation with someone like an Aubameyang, he's a stellar option to have.

I'm sure he's relishing the opportunity to go and show Wenger that he was wrong.

Giroud would be a stellar plan b striker for most top clubs. We should pack him off on loan to BVB, and he can make a permanent move somewhere in the summer

I don't think we want him to go to Chelsea. What does everyone here do when faced with this decision though? Giroud goes to Chelsea because he doesn't want to move from London, else we don't get Aubameyang?

This transfer has been so hard. The Giroud deal as it is will have to happen because of a number of reasons

he wants to stay in London
Chelsea have been even more incompetent than us at transfers this winter
the low price is a result of this being the final step. Chelsea are the only place Giroud is going to go. There is no market here

What’s clear is that the transfer team has worked hard this week. This cannot have been at all easy. Negotiating a deal with so many permutations and players is no easy task.
