He probably wants to stay in London and the PL as he's been here for 9 years.
Petr Cech
I'd love it if Liverpool were interested, then it came down to us two, and he chose us because he wants to stay in London.
Brentan would already have excuses typed up from the Sanchez saga.
United will probs get him
Cech has two young children that are in school in London. There's a lot of talk that he's very keen on not having to uproot them (why would he?).
Well you could potentially work in Manchester or Paris and still have your base in London. But seriously, if you can go to Arsenal why bother with that hassle?
Let's give Mourinho some money and close this one. Even with that silly hat, he's still the fourth best goalkeeper after, in order, De Gaea, Nobody, and Courtois. I'd plunk 12 million pounds on him. Ospina is a bit suspect - he's been helped by the introductions of Bellerin and Coquelin. I'd get Cech and express mail Szczesny back home

We wouldn't just get one of the better keepers around with over a decade's worth of Premier League experience; someone who would be a clear step up from what we have - we'd also snatch him from right under José's amazing technicolour dreamcoat.
Yes, this along with Wenger's righteous shove at Stamford Bridge would be a nice pair of small victories for him against Jose lol.
I think we're signing him. I don't see why United would want to sign a second 33-year-old keeper alongside Valdes. Mourinho is so angry about him leaving you know Cech's coming to us.
Would be a top signing for us.
I seriously don't feel like he is the keeper we need. I would rather get one of those highly rated ones from Germany, or Lloris for his shot stopping ability and superb anticpation.
you think higher of Lloris than of Cech? lulz.. ok
I feel Cech is living on past reputation. Concede a lot of easy goals in the past 2 seasons.
John Cross and the Mail's Sami Mokbel (both have decent links within the club) reporting we've open talks with Chelsea to sign Cech. Hopefully we can tie this one up quickly before other clubs get involved
cech barely played this season. as clrnc mentioned he has let in some soft goals too.
he was the best keeper in the league for a long time. and im sure hes still a good keeper. but what he did 2-3 years ago isnt as relevant to me. id be much more comfortable spending £10m on one of the german keepers who have played full time, since i think you actually know what you are going to get. cech might be great if he plays 45 games next year, or he might show that hes declining, and that is why he lost the #1 spot.
I imagine Mourinho will use ever ounce of influence that he has to prevent this from happening.
I feel pretty strongly that none of the current Germans are good enough to play for a club like Arsenal except for Neuer. Cech was the best keeper in the league last season. He's slowing down a little bit but he's still better than guys like Zieler and Leno will ever be.
There is s big question mark over those German keepers and whether they'd make it here. At least with Cech you know you're getting a solid experienced keeper between the sticks. Chesney was our young experiment and it has gone wrong.
Also he lost his place because Courtois is already at a ridiculously high level and if rumours are true either wanted to play or leave. Nothing to do with Cech's form, Chelsea simply had to make a long term decision . Courtois could be their keeper for the next 10-12 years, Cech can't.
I honestly think we have a better chance of signing Messi than we do of Mourinho doing us a favour
Mourinho isn't the all powerful figure at Chelsea that he might try to portray himself as, when it suits him. If Abramovich has given Cech his word, as has been reported, then there's sod all Mourinho can do about it.

Absolutely. Mourinho won't sell to Wenger and United are likely to be in the market for a keeper. Not that he's even old for a keeper but they signed Van Der Sar at 3 years older and he gave them 6 years with several league titles and a Champions League. Would expect them to be all over him.
I don't see why Mourinho would consider United less of a threat than us, tbh.
