Lehmann era. We probably had the best keeper in that season when United is struggling with Roy Carroll/Howard, Cech was new to the league.

I really appreciate this part of Wenger in recent seasons ever since we had money to splash. And this signing also proved how ruthless he is in looking to improve every part of our team. It's unthinkable he would discard a new keeper after one season despite Ospina not having any obvious howlers. Signing Cech shows that he wants to do the most difficult part of building a strong team, to improve margins at the top end from good to great. He is really going for quality now when it is available.

Moving forward, we might need to be even more cunning. I know Gazidis mentioned during the Q&A last week that we simply do not unsettle players, it is not our style but we need to do it when we are fighting at the top. Not all world class players are always available.

With terms agreed and just a figure to agree in, I can't fathom how negotiations work.

Arsenal:10 mil
Chelsea:16 mil
Arsenal: Ok 10.5 mil
Chelsea: Ok 15 mil

And so on...

How can it work, bitch teams surely have committed now.

Will be a great start to the window though. If it is fair well to Ospina a shame, but Cech could be great from guiding Szczesny. Not sure on the Goal Coaching romours, but a change of coach should round out some issues too.

Great start to the window. A marquis signing and a solid signing should leave us in a formidable position and Cech added to team can only have a positive effect on convincing signings in.

Cech's agency has tweeted the mail to tell them that Cech will let know them know when there is news.

This would be quite a statement. The club and Wenger are ready to pay a high sum of money for a 33 year old keeper to replace a player signed just a year back.

We are looking at incremental improvements and it's very encouraging. I wonder if Wenger would do the same with Welbeck.

Don't make out like you won't love him, Bigs. You must be wetting yourself really. He's about as classic a goalkeeper as there is out there. Not one of these smaller new breed goalkeepers with insane reflexes or a great passing range, but not much else; Cech is an absolute master of the art of goalkeeping.

And he's choosing to come here and stick it to Mourinho. I reckon he's going to be great and you're going to love watching him.

Stick it to Mourinho? why do we allow ourselves to get caught up in these sorts of ramantism and sentiments? It's a job for Cech, he's coming here because we are on balance his best option, not because he wants to stick it up to anybody.

In any event, if it were true what does it say about his loyalties after winning so much under Mourinho.

If players really had any sentiments then rest assured Cech will always bleed Chelsea blue.
