I also like how we're positioning ourselves to take advantage of disagreements between our transfer targets and their respective clubs over the past few summers. When Ozil was unhappy in Madrid, we were there. When Sanchez was available, we were first to react. When Cech was available, we didn't waste half the summer considering whether we should go in for him.

Anyone who doesn't see Cech as a significant step up from what we have needs their head checked. He is the better of Chelsea's GKs and they are only selling him due to the relative ages between him and Courtois. Need to get his GK coach as well.

This signing is definitely yet more confirmation (not that it's needed) that the financial landscape at the club has changed. Five years ago there would have been no chance that Wenger spends £11m on a keeper having bought one the summer before.

It will be great to enter a new season with a keeper that is expected to win us 10-12 points instead of costing us. It's been a long while since we had someone like that.

When De Gea leaves we'll have the second best keeper in England behind Courtois. When's the last time we could say that?
