I do find it funny how some have cited that Cech was not very good in his last season as a starter with Chelsea.. I think people forget that he was joint golden glove keeper with Snez that season with 16 clean sheets. Even if Chelsea did finish 3rd, they only allowed 27 goals, which was 10 goals less than anyone else in the league (City, the champs, conceded 37 and liverpool conceded 50)

to be fair.. he could be a game changer... since defence and keeping are our achilles heel, this would go a long way in helping that.

that said, he wont win us the league by himself.. but he can get us closer

None of us have any fucking idea what will win the league. We should be one of the teams with a chance. That's all, nothing less, nothing more. All this crying and moaning about needed 3-4 world class players is just toys out of the pram stuff.

I understand what you are saying but I beg to differ. After 11 years I'm not interested in "getting closer", I want to win it.

There are only 2 situations in the premiership that should matter for a club like us. Being in the top 4 and winning the league nothing else matters( no one remmembers if you finished 2nd, 3ed or 4th) and since we've always been in the top 4, the only "game changer" is winning it! Else it's just more of the same.

Irrespective of we sign a striker or not ( I hope we sign one but Im very skeptical we will) , this is still a top signing. Ospina and Szczesny are not good enough to be starters in a title winning team but Cech certainly is.

Cech may not be the player he used to be but he's a hell of a lot better than anything we've got. I think the one thing we can all agree on is that Mourinho is a disgusting, lowlife cunt and stealing a quality player (which Cech is) despite his best efforts would be quite pleasing. Even more so one of his all time favourites.

Sounds right for someone of his experience and standing in the game. Assume he'd have been on big money at Chelsea so he's not going to take too much of a cut.

The article says he was on 90k at Chelsea and PSG offered 150k, we offered him a pretty good contract.

Turkish TV says Fenerbahce will seal the 4m pound deal with Ospina in the upcoming weeks. Terms agreed.

Sad to see him go, he performed pretty well for us whenever he played and would have been a good 2nd choice. Keeping Szczesny is of more benefits for us though given that he is homegrown.

Maybe. But I'd trust Ospina a lot more than Szcz to come in and do a reliable job when needed. With Szcz you never know what you're going to get. In a single game he can go from being the aerially dominant goalkeeper who commands the box to the one who gets rushes of blood to the head and takes unnecessary risks by attempting feints in our box.
