if the choice is sterling or bale, id prefer bale.

i dont think we'll end up with either.

Sterling is a decent talent but extremely overrated imo, he started and finished virtually every Liverpool game this season and has something like 5 goals and 5 assists. Dodgy character to boot and I'm pretty sure he'll break down soon seeing how Liverpool run him into the ground. I'm almost certain Gnabry would provide a similar return given the playing time, especially playing a lot of those games centrally.
You went on to mention Isco later, and he has 5 goals and 8 assists having played 33 games for Real with Ronaldo and co., not much better is it? Sterling is playing for a non-scoring Pool side with gobshite such as Lambert, and Lallana, and has 7 goals and 8 assists, it's ok for a 20 years old' I'd say. Point is, let's just keep stats out, they're to no use.
Difference is that Sterling is Liverpool's main attacking focal point in about everything they do while Isco isn't even a starter and plays half of his games in centre midfield. I agree however that stats are pointless most of the time, not as pointless as comparisons to Hazard or Alexis though that you see everywhere.

Not really. Why would Liverpool prefer to take a reduced fee next summer when 25 percent goes to QPR.
A swap is a great deal for them. Cuts out QPR from a lot of it.

-----------Welbeck
Sterling---Oxlade----Walcott
-------Wilshere-RamseyObviously, after Ozil and Sanchez leave, haha.
Obviously you mean all-star British Championship winning team lol.
First off, i think both, Sterling and Walcott are being lured by City for their rebuild.
Secondly, Theo gets such bad rap atm, because he was just out for a year with ACL, obviously had some rusty games and is now not being used by the managed because of the contract talks. In form Theo > Sterling.
If we really are looking at Sterling, then there's no way we are (or should) be looking for a swap. Liverpool cannot come out of this with anything else other than having to buy someone new from a foreign league who will need time to adapt.
Ideal scenario would be Sterling and Walcott both to City, we replace him with Reus/Bale.
Just went on rawk, they are not allowed to talk about his contract .
The Sterling thread is closed and will not be discussed until the summer.
It wont happen, which is a shame beacuse Sterling > Walcott.

More accurate is something more like
if the choice is Sterling and Schneiderlin or Bale, you'd prefer X.
Sterling and Waclott is more accurate as a one on one comparison financially. Sterling is significantly younger and has made himself one of the 3 most important players on Liverpool. I really doubt that Walcott is within our 8 most important players right now. Having two players who like to go at defenders either side of Giroud (Sterling and Sanchez) would give opposing managers fits.

6 league goals and 9 assists. Combined to make 15. Thats more than the combined goals and assists of Eriksen, same as Cazorla, more than Couthinho, more than DiMaria, same as Rooney, more than RVP, more than Welbeck.
Stat wise there are only 3 or 4 players better in his position in the league. And he's 20. Using stats against him is nonsense.
Sterling's main attraction, to me, is releasing Alexis from our problematic LWF position.
To illustrate this, i have to contradict my previous post.
Sorry!

6 goals and 7 assists according to transfermarkt, and there are plenty players that better him stat wise. And I already said I don't care much for stats, my only point was that he's not one of the league's best players or even "certain to be one of the world's best players for the next ten years".
Any three from Alexis, Ozil, Chambo, Ramsey and jack behind giroud would be great

Hear, hear! As you said, he's matching the top players in the league and he's only 20. Not sure what more people want at this stage. For him to wear a blindfold and dribble past people?
He's a big talent, but not worth the sort of sums Liverpool will want for him. Swap with Theo and I'd say ok.
I can't see us being in with a shout anyway. Talk of a swap with Theo makes no sense for Liverpool as Theo wants more in wages than Sterling anyway. So it'll probably be City, Chelsea, etc who go in for him. Looks a perfect fit for City. Already as good or better than Navas and Nasri, young, English, fast. He's exactly what they need. (These are also reason Theo would be a good option for them).
Interesting. I would've assumed that they would keep him around next season no matter what. I think they have a legit shot at finishing above City next season. If Sterling is legitimately going to be on the market then we're probably going to be interested, imo.
Will end up at City imo.

Theo really wants more qs? Because last I heard Sterling wants 150k p/w or was willing to reject up to 180k p/w.

Probably because as I wrote above he has a 25 percent sell-on.
There is no business sense in letting an asset like that go into the last year and not even get the full value of a reduced fee.
Bet Chelsea get him
