Show me the plenty of players playing in his position in better than him stat wise beyond Alexis and Hazard?

Interesting. I would've assumed that they would keep him around next season no matter what. I think they have a legit shot at finishing above City next season. If Sterling is legitimately going to be on the market then we're probably going to be interested, imo.

Probably because as I wrote above he has a 25 percent sell-on.

There is no business sense in letting an asset like that go into the last year and not even get the full value of a reduced fee.

I doubt it would work like that. I would think that Liverpool and QPR would go into arbitration over the value of Walcott's contract as an asset. I don't know for sure but that certainly makes the most amount of sense to me.

Actually I think Tactics is correct. Monaco bought two players and overpriced one of them while paying less for the other so that the selling club wouldn't have to pay so much to the player's earlier club. Liverpool could for example say that they value Sterling for 25m and Walcott for 5m, hence selling Sterling to us for 20m + Walcott. I think.

Nope as said above. Monaco deliberately paid a much higher fee for James (More than 60m euros) and a lower fee for Moutinho because Moutinho had a sell on to Porto's rivals Sporting Lisbon.

All this arbitration stuff doesn't happen

im sure hes actually hoping to go to man city. they desperately need homegrown players, they can massively overpay and give him £200k per week or some other ridiculous wage, and because they can still outspend us, they have a better shot at trophies. though if we finish above them and win the FA cup, maybe perception of them will change slightly

What I love most about that interview is that it implies that he thinks liverpool isn't going to win trophies anytime soon. Their sun has set and whatnot. You just know that more than anything is what's going to piss off liverpool fans and for that I love sterling 😆

Not convinced Sterling will make it out of Liverpool. Even Suarez being among the best strikers in the world had to work very hard to squirm his way out. Gerrard was never able to get out. Sterling must know he will be seen as a villain by Liverpool fans, death threats on the way etc. Surprised that he's willing to take all that on now as a 20 year old.

More details coming out, Sam Wallace from the Independent is reporting that Sterling did that interview on his own accord and it was not sanctioned by Liverpool. I think the player feels he is being portrayed as someone who is only in it for the money so wanted to come out to set the record straight.
