He was also pretty poor a centre half. Just no one slated him for it because it'd be ridiculous to expect him to be as good as Kos or Per there. And when he managed in a game or two not to be destroyed we all said "well done Monreal, good job considering...".
Monreal has had an ok season. He's had a pretty good last couple of months. He's about middle of the pack in terms of how I'd rate our players. That in itself is a massive improvement for Monreal.
To say he should be in a POTY discussion and that he's been better than Giroud is just crazy talk though.
