No. Sanchez has been much better this season, although Özil has been very good since returning. Since he's been injured for a while + he was pretty shit when played on the wing (not his fault), he'd need to play well for the remainder of the season if he's to be considered for player of the season.

His season is probably underrated because he doesn't fit most people's idea of a CM.

Cazorla was very frustrating up until around December.

Still, he and Alexis are the only serious candidates. Don't have much time for players who showed up half way through the season. For better or for worse Cazorla and Sanchez were out there busting their ass every week.

I thought Caz only became effective when Coq came back against West Ham on the 28th of December.
We were especially poor in November with Alexis the only bright spot till his injury after Christmas.
Maybe i was blinded while moaning about the shitty 4141 formation.

With a slice of the season remaining, it goes to Giroud for me. Partly because I think he'll be more of a key player than Sanchez in the run in.

He has silenced his critics after it having been widely assumed he would be superseded by Welbeck. He's won us a number of matches. Injury aside, his effort and output have been very consistent.

However, if he fucks up in the Cup Final and we lose, he certainly won't get it as strikers, like goalkeepers, are judged more harshly.

Sanchez has to take this crown, but what I've seen from Ozil since February suggests he will own it next season

Coquelin, Cazorla and Monreal had very good seasons too, Bellerin was the breakout player.

Only Sanchez perfrormed in both halves of the season though, despite a huge dropoff from February and onwards.

When Özil plays like he's done for the better part of 2015 there isn't a better attacking midfielder in Europe. Some of his skills are fucking outrageous, and he makes them look so simple to pull off. The Villa players looked embarrassed to be on the same field as him today. I predict huge things next season when he's finally had a summer off and gets a full preseason.

I'm worried about Sanchez though. He's played way too much, and now he's off to Copa America.

Hopefully Wenger has learned his lesson after our poor start this season, and will work around it. We really can't expect Sanchez to be a regular for the first month, at least.

Yeah if Ozil can stay fit next season I think it'll be the one where he really makes his mark.

Yeah basically everyone else will be rested and working on a full preseason, Wenger has no need to rush him back. No CL QFs to worry about either. He can start playing again in October.

In terms of top form, Ozil between Feb to Apr was easily our best player. It's a shame he went off the boil by the time we played Chelsea and Swansea.
