10 minutes, and he still made me furious with his fucking backpassing shit, and showing no penetration at all.
There was a moment a few minutes after he came on that infuriated me. A ball was headed away by Monaco near the box. Instead of chasing and crossing it in while they are reorganizing, he jogged slowly to intentionally let the ball out for a throw in. No prizes for guessing what happens after that, throw in get cornered, they kicked it away and we waste so much time just getting the ball back into their half. Utterly brainless play, not as if he was knackered and can't sprint for the ball.
Anyway, what the players says in front of the media isn't important. There are at least 3 of them who had been knocked out with us under the same condition and nobody bothered to learn from the lessons. Honestly though, the way we played in the 2nd leg was almost close to excellence. We really almost did it, but needed just that bit more luck. Welbeck's deflection could have easily got in, Giroud could have let Alexis headed the 3rd goal in etc. It was just after that moment that we were too cautious, too many passes outside of the box instead of players really going for it, thrashing crosses after crosses, shots after shots and really running at defenders. We always lack those urgency when we are chasing a desperate goal. Nobody in the box, slow and patient play outside the box, so frustrating. Ultimately, it's another what could have been, like the previous 14 seasons in the UCL under Wenger.
