3-nil win was always an unlikely result and the fact that we got so close makes it difficult to criticise the team today.
Only annoying thing is us being knocked out at the same stage after getting so close, yet again.
The killer 3rd goal in the first leg, as everyone has already acknowledged, is what still pisses me off the most.

Meh, performance was decent but it was all fucked by the first leg.

Not going to nit pick individual performances but though Ozil was great until the last 5-10 minutes. He's not really who you want hoofing balls in is he?

Bit of a downer waking up to the sports reports of us "crashing out" of CL again.

Mertesacker's comments after the match of the best team went through, were really strange... Monaco weren't the best team on the night or even over two legs, they got a lucky deflected goal then two on the counter, and could have conceded 5 or 6. And in the end squeezed through on away goals. How Per who was out there and captained the side, can say Monaco were better after that display didn't make any sense.

There are benefits of getting kicked out the CL, and there were benefits in staying in. So I'm not fussed either way.
