First leg was a joke, second leg we put in a good performance. Tactically we were spot on and had enough chances to score a third goal. Absolute nonsense to blame this second match on Wenger.
Wenger was in charge of both legs. He gets all the blame.
Tonight Monaco did enough, we didn't.
look, i know where you are coming from. but lets think about this realistically.
prior to the first leg, what instructions do you think wenger gave the team? he probably told them to watch the counter and he expected monaco to sit deep, soak up pressure, and counter us.
and what did they do? they hit us on the counter. do you honestly think wenger told the team to just go out guns a blazin' and leave the team wide open and vulnerable? in the 70th minute, do you think he was screaming at the team and telling them to push everyone up?
where he is to blame is that hes personally had a hand in signing all of these players, and he has set up the team where we don't have one natural leader in the starting XI. neither of our centerbacks can organize the defense. that is his failing. i highly doubt that he doesn't understand the basic tactics, or that hes deliberately setting the team up to fail.
