Maybe people were expecting him to develop too much and were disappointed in the end, but if you asked someone to describe Welbeck's level as a player, there most likely wouldn't be a massive difference from last summer.

As I've said to you already people had a different opinion then and they have one now and it's evident among the posts.
Your opinion might be his reputation is unchanged but for many that's not the case at all.
Wenger's started him exactly zero times in the league up-front since Giroud came back from injury bar the suspension via the QPR game. His actions also suggest as much.
Yeah, I mean, I expected Welbeck to get around 10-15 goals in all competitions for us but I still saw him as second choice behind Giroud. I certainly don't think anyone thought he was the answer to our striking solution.
In terms of reputation, he's gone from a squad player with some potential to a squad player who we really should try to ship out.
http://onemoreinthetolly.com/forums/showthread.php?tid=2610 - Surprising number of you thought he would outst Giroud. What were you smoking.

Yes GM your expectations were as you say now what you said earlier but some people definitely didn't have the same view that they'd have now-

EDIT: I see you posted the link too.
Personally I expected more.
Koeman told Fox Sports: "At the moment there has not been any contact [for Clasie]. There is interest for a number of our players, including Schneiderlin. If Schneiderlin leaves, Jordy Clasie is on our list."
Schneiderlin being heavily linked with United atm.
Why are we getting transfer news headline updates for transfers regarding other teams and Falcao?
Napoli fail to reach Cl.
Higuain scored 30 this season and will surely be moving?
To keep you updated re other clubs rumours Loy

But seriously though, is there a need? And if so why just Falcao and not Schneiderlin or anyone else. I doubt anyone is so bothered with the guy that they can't wait to come in here and instead need every update being highlighted to them beforehand.

Unfortunately the forum just doesn't consist of you now does it.
Why Falcao? Because he's a big name and it was the latest rumour which had been running on all the better sources.
I don't see anything about Schneiderlin on L'equipe or France Football from the french publications or any of the better english publications reporting it.
And if you did see something about Schneiderlin and thought it was relevant then it's kind of ironic that you complain about such minor things yet are too lazy to post such a story yourself.
Any hopes Liverpool may have had of luring Lyon striker Alexandre Lacazette to Anfield this summer appear over judging by comments from the Ligue 1 club's president.
Reacting to recent stories linking the Reds with the France international, Jean Michel Aulas took to Twitter to say: “Your information is false. Liverpool have never called us.
"And [remind me] what European cup [they are playing in next season] and they have neither the means [to sign the player] nor the interest.”
We've always had a thread for transfers regarding other clubs. Having Falcao in the title seems a bit OTT. You going to constantly change the title throughout the summer?
Since you asked politely Rex. Yes I intend to change it when time permits and if major transfers break as I've done so for developments in transfer threads last year.
Jesus higuain scored 30?? I had no idea.
Yeah, but a little less than half of them came in Europa League and the Italian cups, I think. He scored 17 or 18 in Serie A.
In all competitions, that is. 18 in the league.
strong return by any standard that ignores Ronaldo and Messi
Giroud would score 40 out there
